Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts has unveiled its 2016-17 season of music, dance, theater, comedy and more. The Center's star-studded lineup spans virtually every genre of the performing arts and highlights talent from around the globe, including Australia, Canada, Cuba, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Russia, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. Additional events will be announced later in the summer.
Vivian Reed's New Show STANDARDS AND MORE Opens This Weekend at The Metropolitan Room

VIVIAN REED, the two-time Tony Award-nominated Broadway star and concert artist called "remarkable and ferocious" by The New York Times, will return to New York on Saturday April 2 at 9:30 PM, with the opening night of her new show "Standards and More" at The Metropolitan Room. Her special guests for this performance will be Metropolitan Opera soprano Janinah Burnett and Broadway star Raun Ruffin, who appeared in The Civil War. Reed will also appear at The Metropolitan Room on May 23, June 17 and July 21, backed by a four-piece band led by Billy McDaniel. The evening will include unique arrangements of classic standards by Duke Ellington, Rodgers & Hart, Cole Porter and George Gershwin in a dazzling blend of pop, jazz, soul and R&B.

Today, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts and the Santa Rosa Symphony announced the lineup for their 2016-2017 Symphony Pops Series collaboration. The new season marks the twelfth year of the Symphony Pops Series. Led by Principal Pops Conductor Michael Berkowitz, the series will be presented in the Ruth Finley Person Theater at Luther Burbank Center for the Arts. The concert offerings include hits from Maestro Berkowitz's voluminous library of popular music, a special Charlie Brown Christmas Concert, a showcase of The Great American Songbook and a tribute to the legends of country music.
