TheatreWorks joins indie-pop trio GrooveLily to usher in the New Year with a special limited engagement of the smash holiday hit STRIKING 12.

GrooveLily, the trio behind the off-Broadway hit STRIKING 12, will revive their performance for a December 31st New Years Eve performance at the Merkin Concert Hall. The performance will mark GrooveLily's first and only appearance in Manhattan in 2009. STRIKING 12 is written by Brendan Milburn (book, music and lyrics), Tony Award winner Rachel Sheinkin (book and lyrics) and Valerie Vigoda (book, music and lyrics).

Pianist and composer Michael Weiss leads a trio in tribute to the late, great Detroit pianists Hank Jones and Tommy Flanagan at the Kitano New York. Joining Weiss are bassist George Mraz, who was a member of trios led by both Jones and Flanagan, and drummer Dennis Mackrel, a former member of Jones' trio.

'Voice of America' is patriotic revue featuring America's favorite songs from World Wars I and II, the Korean and Vietnam years, and Operation Desert Storm. Performers include Jeanne Scherkenbach, Carolyn Wehner, Rachel Renee, Joel Kopischke and Matt Richardson.

The Iridium Jazz Club presents The Barry Harris Trio, featuring Ray Drummond on bass and Leroy Williams on drums, on February 7th.

Barry Harris is an Internationally renowned Jazz Pianist, Composer and Teacher. Strongly influenced by Bud Powell, Thelonious Monk, and Charlie Parker Harris is unquestionably the foremost exponent of the music of Powell, Tadd Dameron, and Monk, and is one of the few jazz musicians of the late 20th and 21st Centuries who can teach and play the music with equal clarity.

The Iridium Jazz Club presents The Barry Harris Trio, featuring Ray Drummond on bass and Leroy Williams on drums, for three nights of performances February 4th to February 7th.
