The production stars Kristine Thatcher, a member of the 2001 Tony Award-winning Victory Gardens Playwrights Ensemble, where her play Voice of Good Hope premiered and was nominated for the Joseph Jefferson Award for Best New Work in 2000. Thatcher most recently appeared as Terri in Jeffrey Sweet's new play Immoral Imperatives. Prior to that, she appeared in First Folio Theatre's production of Macbeth. Other credits include 'Hannah Jarvis' in Tom Stoppard's Arcadia at the Goodman Theatre, 'Candida' in George Bernard Shaw's Candida at Writers' Theatre, and 'Regan' in King Lear and 'Kate' in Taming of the Shrew at Chicago Shakespeare Theater.

BoHo Theatre and Stage Left Theatre present a joint production of George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion. The production runs January 5th through February 10th , 2013, at Theater Wit, and is directed by Stage Left Artistic Director Vance Smith. Pygmalion represents the Bohemian Pillar of Beauty in BoHo Theatre's 2012/2013 Season, and continues Stage Left Theatre's season exploring societal perceptions and expectations of women. This production celebrates the 100th anniversary of Pygmalion, which was first produced in 1913.

Wilmington Theatre Company is thrilled to bring its debut production of Overruled to the Old Red Lion Theatre in January 2013. The three short comedies, 'How He Lied to Her Husband,' 'Overruled,' and 'Village Wooing,' will be directed by Polina Kalinina (Assistant Director, The Seagull, Southwark Playhouse; Dutchman, Orange Tree). Wilmington Theatre was set up in 2012 by two LAMDA graduates, Lucy Hough and Leo Wyndham.

Stage, television and film star Robert Sean Leonard will star as Henry Higgins in The Old Globe's 100th anniversary production of George Bernard Shaw's masterwork, Pygmalion. The Tony Award-winning actor last appeared on the Old Globe stage as Edgar in Jack O'Brien's renowned 1993 presentation of King Lear starring Hal Holbrook. Directed by Nicholas Martin (Broadway's Butley with Nathan Lane and Present Laughter with Victor Garber), Pygmalion will run on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, Jan. 12 - Feb. 17, 2013. Preview performances run Jan. 12 - Jan. 16. Opening night is Thursday, Jan. 17 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are currently available by subscription only. Single tickets go on sale Sunday, Dec. 9 at 12 noon. Opening 5pound theatres repertory season last night was Daniel Lammin's adaptation of George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion. Lammin's adaptation is a feature of this performance with the 90 minute one act version managing to tell an often drawn out story in a particularly succinct and stylish way. Coupled with this was the theatre in the round-esq stage design which complemented the play and gave it a particularly personal feel. Performances were varied throughout the evening, with Tom Molyneux providing the nights highlight as Colonel Pickering. There were also a couple of dynamic scenes between Jason Cavanagh's Henry Higgins and Freya Pragt's Eliza Doolittle which nailed the dramatic tension required and kept the action humming along. For the majority of the evening however, the play was at that particularly uncomfortable level for both performer and audience where the script isn't fully secure. Lines were dropped and fumbled constantly throughout and on occasion the play was on the brink of stopping due to lost lines. Thankfully it didn't and rounded itself off to be quite a successful performance.
Tony Award winner Deanna Dunagan will guest star on the November 20th episode of the ABC drama PRIVATE PRACTICE.
