BWW Reviews: DANCE/DANCE - Passion Plays Out on Two Very Different Dance Floors

It was George Bernard Shaw who famously defined dancing as 'the vertical expression of a horizontal desire.' And indeed everything from classical ballet to hip-hop has presented humanity's most passionate (and most tragic) yearnings more artfully than real life ever could. The Theatre School at DePaul University presents The Skriker, written by Caryl Churchill and directed by Jess Jung, as the first installment of the 2010-2011 New Directors Series. The production opens Friday, November 5, and runs through Sunday, November 14, 2010, at the Greenhouse Theater Center. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. David Strathairn and Melissa Friedman to Star in Staged Reading of Hannah and Martin

On Wednesday, November 17 at 7 p.m., the Epic Theatre Ensemble will present a staged reading of Kate Fodor's acclaimed play Hannah and Martin at the Museum of Jewish Heritage - A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. David Strathairn and Melissa Friedman will star in this play about the controversial relationship between Jewish political theorist Hannah Arendt and her mentor and lover, Martin Heidegger, the renowned philosopher who used his fame and brilliance to help further the goals of the Nazi party.

Xanthe Elbrick Leads Venus Flytrap At The Workshop Theater 11/4

The award-winning Desert Rose Theatre triumphantly returns to Mesa this fall with a duet of one-act plays inspired by William Shakespeare and directed by DRT founder, Katherine Stewart.
