David Strathairn and Melissa Friedman to Star in Staged Reading of Hannah and Martin

On Wednesday, November 17 at 7 p.m., the Epic Theatre Ensemble will present a staged reading of Kate Fodor's acclaimed play Hannah and Martin at the Museum of Jewish Heritage - A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. David Strathairn and Melissa Friedman will star in this play about the controversial relationship between Jewish political theorist Hannah Arendt and her mentor and lover, Martin Heidegger, the renowned philosopher who used his fame and brilliance to help further the goals of the Nazi party.

Roundabout's TIGERS BE STILL Sells Out Extended Limited Run

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) is thrilled to announce that Tigers Be Still, a new play by Kim Rosenstock directed by Sam Gold, has completely sold out its extended limited run through Sunday, November 28th!

DePaul University Theatre School Presents THE STRIKER, 11/5-14

The Theatre School at DePaul University presents The Skriker, written by Caryl Churchill and directed by Jess Jung, as the first installment of the 2010-2011 New Directors Series. The production opens Friday, November 5, and runs through Sunday, November 14, 2010, at the Greenhouse Theater Center. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Previews are on November 3 and November 4 at 7:30 PM.

Saint Sebastian Players Open 30th Season With Cooney's Cash on Delivery 10/22-11/14

In the tradition of past productions including Lend Me A Tenor and Moon Over Buffalo, the Saint Sebastian Players (SSP) opens its 30th Anniversary Season with the farce Cash on Delivery by Michael Cooney-featuring a special "cash-back guarantee." Performances are October 22-November 14, 2010 at St. Bonaventure, 1625 W. Diversey, in Chicago.

Bender et al. Star in SERVANT OF TWO MASTERS for Shakespeare Theatre of NJ, 6/23-8/1

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey continues its popular annual summer tradition of family theatre under the stars with a new translation/adaptation of Carlo Goldoni's comedy The Servant of Two Masters. Performances begin on June 23 and continue through August 1. Performances are Tuesdays through Sundays at 8:15pm at the outdoor amphitheatre on the campus of the College of St. Elizabeth, 2 Convent Road in Morris Township.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) is pleased to announce the full company of The Milk Train Doesn't Stop Here Anymore, by Tennessee Williams, directed by Michael Wilson. The cast will include Curtis Billings (Giulio), Elisa Bocanegra (Simonetta), Olympia Dukakis (Flora Goforth), Edward Hibbert (Witch of Capri), Maggie Lacey (Frances Black), Darren Pettie (Christopher Flanders).

DePaul University Celebrates 100th Anniversary of Reskin Theatre

The Theatre School at DePaul University is delighted to announce that this coming December 31, 2010, will mark the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Merle Reskin Theatre (formerly The Blackstone Theatre). The Beaux-Arts style Blackstone Theatre, which was designed by Chicago architects Marshall and Fox, opened its doors just off of Michigan Avenue in the South Loop on New Years' Eve of 1910. In the course of the past century it has changed owners, names, addresses, audiences, and has stayed a hub of theatrical arts in a changing neighborhood and city. It faced many noteworthy changes in entertainment, including the introduction of the radio, television and film industries.
