WOR's Joan Hamburg Show to Celebrate The Roundabout 11/9

Tune in to WOR's "Joan Hamburg Show" on Tuesday, November 9th from 12:00-2:00PM (710 AM) to listen as Joan celebrates Roundabout Theatre Company's 2010 - 2011 Season. Roundabout's Artistic Director Todd Haimes, along with Cherry Jones (Mrs. Warren's Profession), Hannah Yelland & Tristan Sturrock (Brief Encounter), Brian Bedford (The Importance of Being Earnest) and Joel Grey (Anything Goes) will be on-hand to discuss Roundabout's exciting season.

ANYTHING GOES:
Tony® Award winner Sutton Foster and Tony® and Academy® Award winner Joel Grey will star in a new Broadway production of Anything Goes, directed & choreographed by Tony® Award winner Kathleen Marshall. Anything Goes will begin performances March 10th, 2011 and officially open on April 7th, 2011 on Broadway at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 West 43rd Street). ALL ABOARD for this saucy and splendid new production of Cole Porter's musical romp across the Atlantic. When the S.S. American heads out to sea, etiquette and convention head out the portholes as two unlikely pairs set off on the course to true love... proving that sometimes destiny needs a little help from a crew of singing sailors, an exotic disguise and some good old-fashioned blackmail. Peppering this hilariously bumpy ride are some of musical theater's most memorable standards, including "You're the Top," "Blow, Gabriel, Blow," "It's De-Lovely," "I Get A Kick Out of You," and "Anything Goes." BRIEF ENCOUNTER:

From London's Kneehigh Theatre comes Noël Coward's Brief Encounter, adapted and directed by Emma Rice. Brief Encounter is an imaginative new work that combines elements of Noël Coward's beloved screenplay, and the one act play on which it was based, with song, dance and Technicolor displays of emotion. Now playing through Sunday, January 2nd at Studio 54 (254 W54th St.) on Broadway.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST:

Brian Bedford will direct and star as "Lady Bracknell" in Oscar Wilde's comedy The Importance of Being Earnest. The Importance of Being Earnest will begin previews on Friday, December 17th, 2010 and open officially on Thursday, January 13th, 2011. This is a limited engagement through Sunday, March 6th, 2011. The Importance of Being Earnest is a glorious comedy of mistaken identity, which ridicules codes of propriety and etiquette. Dashing men-about-town John Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff pursue fair ladies Gwendolen Fairfax and Cecily Cardew. Matters are complicated by the imaginary characters invented by both men to cover their on-the-sly activities - not to mention the disapproval of Gwendolen's mother, the formidable Lady Bracknell.

MRS. WARREN'S PROFESSION:
Tony® Award winner Cherry Jones & Golden Globe winner Sally Hawkins star in a new Broadway production of Mrs. Warren's Profession, directed by Tony® Award winner Doug Hughes. George Bernard Shaw's scorching tour de force Mrs. Warren's Profession tells the story of Kitty Warren (Jones), a mother who makes a terrible sacrifice for her daughter Vivie's (Hawkins) independence. The clash of these two strong-willed but culturally constrained women is the spark that ignites the ironic wit of one of Shaw's greatest plays. Now playing through Sunday, November 28th at the American Airlines Theatre (227 W42nd St.) on Broadway.
