There is only one New York City! Outspoken, outrageous and over the top, NYC residents are the perfect subjects for urban drama. The Players Theatre Short Play and Musical Festival and Be Bold! Productions encourage playwrights to take these stories and put them on the stage in the NYC - themed festival each June. Celebrating its 8th year, "Only in New York" opened Thursday, June 7 and runs for three weeks. Each week five original short plays or musicals, by a variety of playwrights (including one high school student) will be presented with a "Best of the Week" production will being selected by audience vote.

In the city that never sleeps the Players Theatre Short Play and Musical Festival has encouraged playwrights to create plays that share a unique aspect of urban life in the annual NYC - themed festival. Celebrating its 8th year, 'Only in New York' opens Thursday, June 7 and runs for three weeks. FRIGID New York will present the 12th Annual FRIGID Festival at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery) and UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place between 1st Avenue and Avenue A) February 14-March 4. Founded in 2007, FRIGID is an open and uncensored theatre festival that gives artists an opportunity to let their ingenuity thrive in a venue that values freedom of expression and artistic determination. In true support of our Indie Theater Community, 100% of box office proceeds will go directly to the artists whose work is being presented. FRIGID is here to chill out the New York independent theatre scene's ideas of what a theatre festival can be!

In this farcical mash-up of 'CSI: Miami' and 'The Andy Griffith Show', we find a gruesome string of murders happening in Mayberry. It's up to Andy and Barney to find out who the killer is from a list of familiar faces. Is it Aunt Bee? Floyd the Barber? Otis the Drunk? Or someone else all together...?
