Shakespeare's THE TEMPEST To Open On Talk Like A Pirate Day

Opening on Talk Like a Pirate Day, William Shakespeare's Tempest to blowing to the Kraine Theater!

Set on a remote island, the sorceress Prospero, rightful ruler of Milan, plots to restore herself and her daughter
Miranda to their rightful place using illusion and skillful manipulation. She conjures up a storm, the eponymous tempest, to cause her usurping brother Antonio and the complicit King Alonso of Naples to believe they are shipwrecked and marooned on the island. There, her machinations bring about the revelation of Antonio's lowly
nature, the redemption of the King, and all sorts of other magical mischief.

This show stars Chris Weigandt as Prospero, Genny Yosco as Miranda, Bob Rutan as Alonso, Matthew Preston as Antonio, Katherine Yacko as Ariel, Ryan Molloy as Ferdinand, Bryan Songy as Caliban, Leah Schwartz as Trinculo, Frankie Johnson as Sabrina, Sydney Mattie as Stephano, Wendy Watt as Francisca/Juno, Giordano Cruz as Gonzalo, and Hooker Campbell as Boatswain.

Director Genny Yosco has loved theater since she was a child, and it's been a steady decline into madness ever since. Her works have been in the 2018 FRIGID Festival (As He Likes It: A Shakesqueer Comedy), 2018 SEX! Short Play Festival (Business as Usual, second place winner), 2017 NYNW Festival (Albert and The Dark Man; semi-finalist), the 2017 BOO! Short Play Festival (Just Gone), 2017 NY Summerfest (Sex Jokes & Murder), the 2017 Radioactive Festival (Just Gone), the 2017 FRIGID Festival (A Fifth Dimension: An Unauthorized Twilight Zone Parody; winner of Best Ensemble Piece), the 2016 UNFringed Festival (As He Likes It: A Shakesqueer Comedy), the 2016 Radioactive Festival (Timeless Beauty), and the 2016 FRIGID Festival (CSI: Mayberry - An Unauthorized Parody; winner of Best Mash-Up), all of which she has written, produced, directed, and acted in. When she's not over-exerting herself with theater, she's doing about the same with her short film projects.

Chris Weigandt and Genny Yosco, founders of Sour Grapes Productions and actual mother-daughter duo, are thrilled to finally be able to play mother and daughter, excluding the one time where Genny played her mother's mother and Chris played her daughter's daughter. That was a weird show, and we don't talk about it.

Performances are Sept 19th at 8:30pm, Sept 20th at 7:00pm, Sept 21st at 7:00pm, Sept 22nd at 7:00pm, and Sept 23rd at 2:00pm
