In what has become a Fall concert tradition in New York, some of the biggest and brightest Broadway stars of today, showed that they've got the same vocal chops as the stars of yesteryear when they blow the roof off of the 1,500 seat Town Hall without using microphones in the BROADWAY UNPLUGGED concert, November 15. Singing Broadway show tunes the way they used to be sung -- without any electronic amplification ('Unplugged') -- the audience hears the pure human voice the way one never hears it anymore in a Broadway theater. And it is thrilling! For those that are tired of today's constant over-amplification of Broadway musicals, this concert was both an eye and ear opener. Despite legendary costume designer Bob Mackie working on CATCH ME IF YOU CAN's 2009 Seattle tryout, he will not be part of the creative team as the show opens on Broadway. Multiple Tony Award winner William Ivey Long is now working with the show.

On Saturday, November 13 at 8pm, actress Liz Callaway will perform 'In Good Company- Liz Callaway Sings Sondheim' at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco, the center's website announces. In the event, which The Eugene and Elinor Friend Center for the Arts will present, Callaway will tell stories and perform Stephen Sondheim songs, including selections from COMPANY, SWEENEY TODD, INTO THE WOODS, and A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC.

KansasCity.com reports that the Kansas City Ballet will present the world premiere of Maury Yeston's Tom Sawyer - A Ballet in Three Acts in the inaugural season at their Kauffman Performing Arts Center. Not to be confined to one avenue to showcase his musical talent, Karl Scully appeared with Ewan McGregor in the film 'Nora' as he portrayed the legendary tenor Count John McCormack. In 2006, Mr. Scully joined the sensational international group 'The Irish Tenors', and starred in their television show 'The Irish Tenors and Friends.'
