Raul Esparza Cast As Lead On New NBC Drama SUSPICION

Akvavit Theatre is pleased to present A LITTLE NIGHT OF NORDIC MUSIC, a benefit concert featuring highlights from the musical Chess and other song selections, with special guest Gregory Treco, who currently stars as Aaron Burr in the Chicago cast of the smash hit musical Hamilton.

While Rocktopia gets ready to take its first official Broadway bow, its producers are under fire for offering its chorus members unfair wages. An official statement from the Actors' Equity Association reads:

The story of visionary architect Daniel H. Burnham and Chicago's great World's Fair comes to life in Lost and Found Productions' world premiere musical BURNHAM'S DREAM: THE WHITE CITY, with book and lyrics by June Finfer, music and lyrics by Elizabeth Doyle, direction by Erik Wagner and choreography by Jessica Texidor. Celebrating the 125th anniversary of the 1893 World's Fair, this lively new musical will play June 1 - July 1, 2018 at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago. Tony nominee Carolee Carmello (Sweeney Todd, Parade), Drama Desk nominee Kenita Miller (Once On This Island, The Color Purple), Charlotte Maltby (The Secret Garden, The Sound of Music), and Charles Franklin (The Book of Mormon, The Secret Garden) have signed on to appear in 54 SINGS BABY: THE MUSICAL at Feinstein's/54 Below on Sunday, March 18th, 2018, at 7:00pm and 9:30pm.

Signature Theatre announces the full cast and creative team for the DC premiere of Annie Baker's John, directed by Signature Theatre Director of New Work Joe Calarco (Signature's The Gulf, Jesus Christ Superstar). Elias and Jenny, a young Brooklyn couple, escape on a much-needed getaway to a cozy bed-and-breakfast in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. However, under the watchful eye of the cheery, if slightly off, innkeeper, a ghost seems to haunt their crumbling relationship. Annie Baker's John was called "so good on so many levels that it casts a unique and brilliant light' by The New Yorker. John will run April 3 - April 29 in Signature Theatre's MAX Theatre.

Another all-star cast has been assembled for the second concert in this record-breaking 18th season of Town Hall's signature series,Broadway by the Year. CBC and SundanceTV today announced casting for the dramatic eight-part miniseries UNSPEAKABLE, which chronicles the tainted blood scandal beginning in the 1980's. Acclaimed actors Sarah Wayne Callies (Colony, The Walking Dead), Shawn Doyle (Bellevue, Big Love), Michael Shanks (Stargate SG-1, Saving Hope) and Camille Sullivan (The Disappearance, The Man in the High Castle) will lead the series. Production on UNSPEAKABLE begins spring 2018 in Vancouver, BC, for broadcast on CBC in Canada and SundanceTV in the U.S.

Pippin plays at Southwark Playhouse from 23 February - 24 March 2018. Pippin features Jonathan Carlton reprising his role as Pippin and Genevieve Nicole returning as The Leading Player. The principal cast is completed with Mairi Barclay, Bradley Judge, Tessa Kadler and Rhidian Marc. Players include Michelle Andrews, Andrew Halliday, Scott Hayward and Ellie Seaton.

The York Theatre Company presents the 1961 Broadway musical Subways Are for Sleeping with music byJule Styne and book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, suggested by the book by Edmund G. Love, the final show in the Winter 2018 Musicals in Mufti Series celebrating the work of the legendary composer Jule Styne. Directed by Stuart Ross, and with music direction by David Hancock Turner, the cast features Karl Josef Co, David Engel, Beth Glover, David Josefsberg, Alyse Alan Louis, Kathryn McCreary, Gerry McIntyre, Gina Milo, Eric William Morris, and Kilty Reidy.

Currently on the road with Walk the Moon, indie group Company of Thieves arrive with their highly anticipated EP, Better Together - their first effort since 2011. Premiering on Consequence of Sound, the release features three new tracks, as well as a gorgeously stripped back rendition of fan-favorite, “Oscar Wilde”.  

THE GREEN ROOM 42 - Broadway's newest intimate concert venue - will welcome back Eva Noblezada, the Tony Award nominated star of Broadway's Miss Saigon for three more Monday shows on February 26, March 5 and March 12 at 7:00 PM. Her show "Girl No More" has been extended regularly since it first debuted in the fall of 2017.
