The Broadway community gathered celebrate the life and show business legacy of beloved Broadway performer Kevin Gray yesterday, May 13 at 2PM at The Majestic Theatre (247 West 44th Street). The Majestic Theatre held a special place for Mr. Gray, having starred there in The Phantom of the Opera, first as Raoul and later as The Phantom. Paper Mill Playhouse hosted its largest fundraising event of the year, The 75th Anniversary Gala, on May 10th, 2013. The 75th Anniversary Gala celebrated Paper Mill's legacy as a world-class producer of theater and its role as a pioneer in arts education for three-quarters of a century. The evening offered dinner, dancing, live and silent auctions and entertainment by students from Paper Mill Playhouse's arts education programs, The Eddie Bruce Band, and headliner Jeremy Jordan, star of Broadway's Newsies and NBC's Smash. This past Friday, May 3, The Tenors performed at The NYCB Theatre at Westbury. Their PBS special has been airing on WNET TV 13 and WLIV TV 21 in the tristate area, and pledge people were treated to a wonderful evening of music, and some even a Meet and Greet with the singers after the show. The 13th Annual Monte Cristo Award was presented to Mr. Plummer by fellow stage and film legend Kevin Spacey. Mr. Spacey was the recipient of the Monte Cristo Award in 2009.
