Celtic Thunder's George Donaldson to Play Connolly's Klub 45 in NYC Tonight

George Donaldson has been a member of the 'Celtic Thunder' Scottish/Irish singing ensemble for the last four years and has enjoyed success on both sides of the Atlantic and Australia. George will be doing some solo shows around the country and will be stopping in New York City tonight, December 10, 2012 for a 7:30PM show at Connolly's Klub 45 at Times Square.

"An Evening with The Coterie", a night of thirteen musical theater and opera premieres, will be presented at the National Opera Center on December 15th at 7:30pm. The concert will feature soprano Lauren Worsham and lyrics by Royce Vavrek, co-founders of opera-theater company The Coterie, and two of the artists behind composer David T. Little's critically acclaimed opera "Dog Days", which premiered this September at Peak Performances @ Montclair.

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, announced today that Ryan Silverman has been cast as Giorgio, joining acclaimed/awarding winning actresses Judy Kuhn (as Fosca) and Melissa Errico (as Clara), in the company's upcoming new production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Tony Award-winning musical Passion, to be directed by John Doyle (director of the acclaimed Broadway revivals of Sondheim's Sweeney Todd and Company).

Ryan Silverman to Replace Seth MacFarlane in New York Pops Tribute to Sammy Cahn, March 8

On March 8, 2013, one of Broadway's favorite leading men, Ryan Silverman, will appear with The New York Pops for Come Fly With Me: The Songs of Sammy Cahn. Mr. Silverman has previously appeared in The Phantom of the Opera (Raoul), Cry-Baby (Cry-Baby u/s), Music in the Air (Karl) at New York City Center's Encores!, and The Most Happy Fella (Al) at New York City Opera. Mr. Silverman replaces Seth MacFarlane, who is unavailable to perform due to a scheduling conflict. Mr. Silverman joins previously announced guest artist Megan Hilty, Broadway singer and star of the television show Smash.

Review - The Best of Broadway By The Year & Cyrano de Bergerac

The first 11 o'clock number of the evening came at around 8:05, when Marc Kudisch opened Town Hall's The Best of Broadway By The Year concert by caressing Lerner and Loewe's “If Ever I Would Leave You” with his rich, dramatic baritone and superlative musical acting skills.  It was a very appropriate opening since Kudisch, a regular participant throughout the concert series' twelve-season history, very much represents what these evenings have evolved into; a look at what Broadway could be in a commercially different environment.

As part of the League of Professional Theatre Women's 30th Anniversary 30 Plays Celebrate 30 Years project, an evening dedicated to poetry written and performed by poets P.J. Gibson, Carol Hall, Anne Hamilton, Harriet Slaughter, Mira Spektor and Gayl Teller will be presented at the Cherry Lane Theatre tonight, October 29th at 7:30. Cara Reichel will direct. Melody Berger will provide incidental music.

“We should not do a show more often,” quipped Ryan Silverman as he an Jill Paice took in the appreciative applause of the Town Hall audience before even singing a note of the Broadway musical they were expected to star in this season, Rebecca.  Host Scott Siegel had just recapped the story of the show's numerous delays, fake investors, missing funds and the fact that an estimated 150 theatre professions had either turned down work or stopped seeking immediate employment because of their expectation to be working on Broadway by Christmas.
