To those who've seen the Oscar-winning screen adaptation of WEST SIDE STORY, the recollections of George Chakiris' performance as Bernardo remain vivid. His acting is top notch, his singing is superb and his dancing comes darn close to burning up the celluloid it is preserved on. He was awarded an Oscar as 'Best Supporting Actor' for his work on that film and now, fifty years later, he is about to imprint his handprints and signature outside of the famed Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood. The Pepperdine University Fine Arts Division presents its fall musical, Xanadu, at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 10-Saturday, November 12, and Thursday, November 17-Saturday, November 19, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, November 13, at Smothers Theatre on Pepperdine's Malibu campus.

The White Plains Performing Arts Center (WPPAC) Conservatory Theatre will present XANADU on Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, November 6 at 2:00 pm.

XANADU follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time - the first ROLLER DISCO! (Hey, it's 1980!) But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation and chaos abounds.

The 20th annual production of Pittsburgh CLO's A Musical Christmas Carol will feature an exceptional cast of exciting new faces and returning favorites, led by Pittsburgh's own Tom Atkins as Ebenezer Scrooge.

THE TOWN HALL'S Seventh Annual Broadway Cabaret Festival concluded with A TRIBUTE TO Judy Garland AND THE ART OF AMERICAN DANCE on Friday, October 28th. Pittsburgh CLO Academy is seeking two internship candidates. Applications are now being accepted for college sophomores, juniors and seniors to coordinate the 2012 Gene Kelly Awards. The Internship runs January 2 - June 8, 2012.
