Newly Redesigned THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA Tour to Hit North America in November

Cameron Mackintosh and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group announced today that their spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA will launch a North American tour beginning this November in Providence, R.I at the Providence Performing Arts Center. With newly reinvented staging and stunning scenic design, this new version of PHANTOM, the most successful musical of all-time, will play more than 20 multi-week engagements through next year, including Cincinnati, OH and Minneapolis, MN. A complete tour schedule will be announced in the coming weeks. First unveiled in March, 2012 in Plymouth, England, this reinvented PHANTOM has been an enormous box-office and critical hit throughout the U.K.

The longest-running show in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, directed by Harold Prince and produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Theatre Company, Inc., will welcome West End star and Platinum-selling Swedish recording star Peter Jöback to the New York cast this summer. Mr. Jöback will assume the title role for a limited engagement from Monday, April 29 through Saturday, August 24, 2012.

Unfortunately, the show's creator, Andrew Lloyd Webber, will not be present for the festivities this weekend. He realeased the following statement at Whosay.com:

Tonight, Monday, January 21, 2013, the longest-running show in Broadway history, Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, directed by Harold Prince and produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Company, Inc., will welcome Broadway and West End star Sierra Boggess to the New York cast. Ms. Boggess will play a strictly-limited engagement as leading lady Christine Daaé for 6 weeks through Saturday, March 2.

Producers today announced an online sweepstakes to give PHANTOM 'Phans' the chance to be part of the historic night's invitation-only performance. While many of the evening's details are being kept under wraps, the special night will begin with an early 6:30 PM performance at The Majestic Theatre (247 West 44th Street), the musical's home for its entire run.

All good things must come to an end: after Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, David Atkins Enterprises, Hi-Definition Radio Inc., and Concertus Manila's latest import, Andrew Lloyd Webber's mega musical 'The Phantom of the Opera,' made a big stir in town, these theater producers - who also brought 'Cats,' 'Mamma Mia!' and 'Stomp' to the country ¬- have to finally drop the final curtain on 'The Phantom…' on Sunday, October 14 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines' (CCP) main theater. Since Lon Chaney first wore the mask for silent film audiences in 1925, filmmakers and stage producers have been drawn to Gaston Leroux's novel, "The Phantom of the Opera." The Alhambra Theatre & Dining will open Phantom tonight, October 10 with what director Todd Booth calls the theater's biggest, most lavish production ever. Phantom is presented by The Brumos Companies.
