BWW Review: Top 10 Reasons Why Disney's THE LION KING Is Still Worth Seeing On Tour

18 years and billions of box office receipts later, Disney's Tony Award-winning global hit THE LION KING is still going strong both on Broadway and on various touring and sit-down productions across the world. The show's North American tour is currently finishing up its four-week return engagement at Orange County's Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa through November 1. THE LION KING will be featured on the hit CBS drama, CODE BLACK, starring Marcia Gay Harden, in an episode to air Wednesday, Nov. 25 (10:00 - 11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The episode features Alton Fitzgerald White, who played a record-breaking 4,000 performances as 'Mufasa' in The Lion King, as well as eight members of The Lion King North American Tour. Garth Fagan Dance Tributes to Geoffrey Holder With DANCE FOR/WITH GEOFFREY This Weekend

Ebony Repertory Theatre (ERT - Founder/Producer Wren T. Brown) announced today that Garth Fagan Dance will bring to Los Angeles Fagan's tribute to the late Geoffrey Holder, 'Dance for/With Geoffrey.' Performances at the 400-seat Nate Holden Performing Arts Center (4718 W. Washington Blvd.) in Los Angeles will run this weekend, October 16-18, 2015.

Dancers Over 40 celebrates diversity in dance with Can't Stop the Music! Can't Stop the Dance! Diversity All Around Us! - featuring DO40 Advisory Board member Jerry Mitchell's new musical comedy, Gotta Dance - the incredible true story of ten determined dreamers who have three things in common: they love to dance, they have something to prove and they are all over 60. They battle pain, prejudice, self-doubt and each other for a chance to bust a move at center court in front of 20,000 screaming fans at a national basketball team's half time show. That panel will be moderated by BroadwayWorld's Richard Ridge.

That panel will be moderated by Broadway World's Richie Ridge. Garth Fagan to Present Two World Premieres at The Joyce Theater, 11/6-8

Two world premieres, one by the “Lion King,” Tony Award-winning choreographer Garth Fagan and the other by Fagan's muse, rehearsal director and “Bessie Award” winner Norwood Pennewell, are among the highlights of Garth Fagan Dance's 45th anniversary celebration that takes place at The Joyce Theater, November 3-8.

BWW Review: Broadway San Jose's THE LION KING is Magical!

Broadway San Jose at the Center for the Performing Arts plays host to Disney's THE LION KING now through October 4 only. That's the most important thing you need to know because if you're one for keeping a bucket list of must-see things to do and see before you 'exit stage left,' then this show is surely one for the list. Disney's THE LION KING Begins at the Center for the Performing Arts Tonight

The San Jose return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Thursday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Center for the Performing Arts for a limited four-week engagement through Sunday, October 4. In San Jose, THE LION KING plays Tuesday through Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m.; Friday evenings at 8 p.m.; Saturdays at 2 and 8 p.m.; and Sundays at 1 and 6:30 p.m., with an additional matinee performance on Thursday, September 17 at 1 p.m.

2015 First Niagara Rochester Fringe Festival Announces Lineup

The fourth First Niagara Rochester Fringe Festival (Thursday, September 17 - Saturday, September 26) announced its complete lineup this morning at its annual BIG REVEAL at The Little Theatre. The 2015 Fringe will include more than 500 performances and events (up from 2014's 380) featuring all genres of art in 25+ venues in downtown Rochester, with more than 120 of them offered free of charge.
