Broadway's award-winning best musical THE LION KING celebrates its 21st anniversary today, Tuesday, November 13.

Seattle Theatre Group, Disney Theatrical Group, TDF, and our community partners are proud to offer a sensory-friendly performance of Disney's The Lion King on January 5, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre. Performed in a supportive and judgment-free environment, this show will provide the opportunity for families and friends with children or adults affected by autism and other sensory issues to enjoy the shared experience of live theatre.   

Internationally acclaimed Garth Fagan Dance has consistently impressed audiences with its powerful physicality, its undeniable artistry, and the welcoming accessibility of its live performances.

Disney's THE LION KING grossed over $3.7 million at the box office and entertained more than 44,500 theatergoers during its three-week premiere engagement in Boise. The production, which played The Morrison Center for 24 performances from October 17 - November 4, broke the box office record for the highest gross and number of tickets sold for any single show in the theatre's history.

The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center is encouraging patrons to exercise caution when purchasing tickets for Disney's The Lion King after identifying fraudulent tickets for sale online and on social media.

October 30, 2018 kicked of the return of Garth Fagan Dance to New York City. Their season at The Joyce Theater was full of new work and old revivals. This internationally-acclaimed company continues to use dance as a platform to honor and pay tribute to the African diaspora through the pioneering vision of Mr. Fagan and contemporary dance.

Disney Theatrical Productions and The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall announced today that tickets for the long-awaited premiere engagement of Disney's The Lion King go on sale to the public on Friday, November 2, 2018. Disney's The Lion King will leap onto the Van Wezel stage on Thursday, March 14 for a 3-week engagement through Sunday, March 31. The official opening night for Disney's THE LION KING is Friday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m.

The Boise premiere engagement of Disney's THE LION KING begins performances tonight at the Morrison Center. The three week engagement plays from Wednesday, October 17 through Sunday, November 4.

Disney's The Lion King grossed over $4.8 million at the box office and entertained more than 48,000 theatergoers during its three-week return engagement. Presented by Blumenthal Performing Arts, The Lion King played Belk Theater for 24 performances from Wednesday, August 22 through Sunday, September 9.

Disney's The Lion King will return to Cleveland for a four-week engagement at Playhouse Square, from Wednesday, August 7 through Sunday, September 1, 2019. Season ticket packages including The Lion King will go on sale Monday, October 8, 2018 by calling 216-640-8800. Organizers of the KeyBank Rochester Fringe Festival (Today, September 12 – Saturday, September 22, 2018) announced the seventh annual festival's entire lineup and invited Rochester to “Join the pARTy” at their BIG REVEAL press conference yesterday. For the first time, Rochester's Fringe will span 11 days, up from 10 for the past five years.

The KeyBank Rochester Fringe Festival runs 11 days for the first time this year, so officially opens on Wednesday, September 12 and closes on Saturday, September 22. One of the fastest-growing and most-attended U.S. fringe festivals and now the largest multi-genre arts festival in New York State as well, the 2018 Fringe will offer more than 500 performances and events again this year - over 150 of which are free of charge - in 20+ venues in downtown Rochester.

Disney's The Lion King will play in Grand Rapids for the first time ever as part of the 2019-20 subscription series at Broadway Grand Rapids, sponsored by Fifth Third Bank. The best way to secure tickets to The Lion King is to purchase a season subscription for 2018-19, thereby guaranteeing seats when the subscription is renewed. Broadway Grand Rapids previously announced that the national tour of the Broadway musical Hamilton will also play at DeVos Performance Hall as part of the 2019-20 season.
