Organizers of the KeyBank Rochester Fringe Festival will open the 2018 show-submission process one month from today, on April 1, 2018 at 9 a.m. (EST). Through April 30 at 11:59 p.m. (EST), artists and producers from all over the world may submit production proposals directly to the 2018 Fringe's 20+ venues via rochesterfringe.com. Based on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe model, the vast majority of the Fringe's 500+ shows are selected by the venues themselves in this way. Only a few headliner shows and the outdoor entertainment are curated by the Fringe itself.
Broadway Dance Lab (BDL), a non-profit choreography incubator supporting new works of dance-driven theatre, has announced that former New York City Ballet principal dancer, and Tony Award nominee, Robert Fairchild, will join Loni Landon and Ray Mercer as guest choreographers for the company's Spring 2018 Cycle. The Lab is set to begin on Feb. 26, and will culminate with a Gala performance on April 2 at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre.

Disney's THE LION KING is celebrating its sold-out engagement in Baltimore, which concluded on Sunday at the Hippodrome Theatre. The triumphant four-week return grossed over $5.6 million at the box office and entertained more than 64,000 patrons during 31 performances.
