For those craving a show after the show, 54 BELOW, the new performance venue located just below the legendary Studio 54 at 254 West 54th Street, offers its Tuesday night cocktail party/songfest, "Backstage." Special guest stars on February 26th include performances by Katie Thompson (From The Public Theatre's Giant and Broadway's upcoming Big Fish, composer/lyricist/recording artist - Original songs featured on FOX's "So You Think You Can Dance"), Dani Spieler (from Broadway's Legally Blonde and the National Tour of West Side Story), Kevin Ray (singer / songwriter of Central Avenue Breakdown, New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) award winner and MAC Award nominee for his holiday album - "Seasoned Greetings"), Anna Steele (three-time MAC Award winner and two-time Bistro and Nightlife Award winning cabaret artist), Freddie Kimmel (from the National Tour of Billy Elliott and Superfly The Musical).

Epic Megalopolis Productions (New York/Los Angeles) will produce a concert reading of Swedish pop band Brainpool's new rock opera JUNK on November 17th and 19th at the National Opera Center in New York City. JUNK will be the first rock opera presented in the new recital hall opened by Opera America earlier this year, a venue dedicated to supporting the creation, presentation, and enjoyment of opera. On Septembet 14th in the Heart of Times Square, 60 New York City Theatre Professionals (ranging from Broadway Veterans, to Radio City Rockettes) began to arise from the hustle and bustle to sing and dance their hearts out about the hottest nail product on the market: Shellac, created by CND (www.CND.COM). This was one of the biggest and most exciting Musical Theatre Flashmob's ever produced in Times Square, not just a random step touch dance number but a fully stage production number with ladies belting their faces and kicking about as high as the second floor of the A.E.A building.

Elaine Marcos (A CHORUS LINE, WEDDING SINGER, PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT, and 'Morning Glory') along with Emilee Dupre, Kaitlyn Davidson, Elizabeth Clinard, and Patrice Bunch as the Hell's Kitchen Yoginis. These girls discuss what it's like to be living in NYC, and what they do when they reach their boiling point.

Irving Berlin's White Christmas makes its Richmond, Va., stage debut this year at the historic Empire Theatre. The show, produced by Barksdale Theatre, opened November 19 and will run through January 9. It is directed by Patti D'Beck, who last year won the Richmond Theatre Critics Circle awards for best direction of a musical and best choreography for Barksdale's Thoroughly Modern Millie (which won 10 awards total). Like many of her leading players in White Christmas, D'Beck is a Broadway veteran, having performed in or associate-choreographed such shows as Pippin, A Chorus Line, Evita, Grease and Bells Are Ringing.
