Cast Announced for Finborough's VALLEY OF SONG, Running Jan 5-25

The Finborough Theatre's acclaimed Celebrating British Music Theatre series returns with Ivor Novello's very last musical, Valley of Song, playing a week of Sunday and Monday evening and Tuesday matinee performances from Sunday, 5 January 2014 (Press Night: Monday, 6 January 2014 at 7.30pm), followed by a two week run from Sunday, 12 January 2014.

ABC to Air HAPPY NEW YEAR, CHARLIE BROWN, 12/30

The ABC Television Network and the PEANUTS gang will ring in the new year with the animated PEANUTS special, “Happy New Year, Charlie Brown,” created by late cartoonist Charles M. Schulz, along with “She's a Good Skate, Charlie Brown,” airing with Spanish audio via SAP MONDAY, DECEMBER 30 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Gina Beck & Alison Fraser Join Cast of WICKED National Tour Today

The company of the first North American tour of WICKED welcome Gina Beck as Glinda and Alison Fraser as Madame Morrible today, Monday, December 16 in Chicago, IL. WICKED, Broadway's biggest blockbuster, is playing through December 21 at the Oriental Theatre.

THE AMERICAN WEST IN BRONZE, 1850-1925 to Open 12/18 at Metropolitan Museum of Art

At the turn of the 20th century, artistic representations of American Indians, cowboys and cavalry, pioneers and prospectors, and animals of the plains and the mountains served as visual metaphors for the Old West and, as such, were collected eagerly by an urban-based clientele. Through some 65 bronze sculptures by 28 artists, the traveling exhibition The American West in Bronze, 1850–1925, opening at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on December 18, will explore the aesthetic and cultural impulses behind the creation of statuettes with American western themes so popular with audiences then and now. It is the first full-scale museum exhibition devoted to the subject and brings together examples from public and private collections nationwide.

Chance Theater presents the fifth show of its 15th Anniversary Season - a family-friendly holiday offering The Secret Garden - The Musical with book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Marsha Norman, music by Tony Award nominee Lucy Simon, and directed by Casey Long and KC Wilkerson. WICKED National Tour Returns to PPAC, 12/26-1/12

New Alhambra Kicks Off 5th Season

On Friday evening, December 6, just before the Gala Grand Opening of it's holiday show, Christmas Carole, The Alhambra Theatre & Dining, the nation's longest running professional dinner theater, kicked off it's 5th season under new ownership.

NO NAME @ WORD UP SUPER STORYTELLER EDITION Set for 12/3

The long-running No Name Comedy / Variety Show brings New York's best established and upcoming authors and storytellers to Washington Heights for a new monthly series: 'No Name @ Word Up Super Storytellers' Edition', continues Tuesday, December 3rd at the Word Up Community Bookshop (165th Street & Amsterdam Avenue) in Manhattan. Curated and hosted by author / storyteller Michele Carlo ('FISH OUT OF AGUA: My life on neither side of the (subway) tracks' / Citadel Press) ), all shows will begin at 7:00 pm and will include a 'Magic Hat open mic' where audience members can sign up for a chance at four minutes of stage time to tell their story. Admission is FREE, donations welcomed.

The studio has announced a new crop of release dates for its upcoming titles, slotting THE MUMMY reboot for April 22, 2016, Michael Mann's SEVENTH SON for Jan. 16, 2015, THE BOY NEXT DOOR with Jennifer Lopeze for Jan. 23, 2015, and its planned 'Jeff Bridges-Julianne Moore fantasy' for Feb. 6, 2015.
