Ramin Karimloo is currently starring in his Broadway debut as 'Jean Valjean' in the revival of Les Miserables, playing at the Imperial Theatre. Karimloo is also set to release his latest EP, titled 'The Road to Find Out: East,' which will be available starting April 7, 2014 via Big Hand Recordings. The EP features what Karimloo calls 'Broadgrass', which is an amalgamation between Broadway and Bluegrass music. This spring marks the 15th anniversary production of The Diary of Anne Frank by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett at Park Square Theatre. When it closes on May 15, the production-the touching story of a brave young woman coming of age in hiding from the Nazis-will have played for 638 performances and inspired 201,000 audience members, including tens of thousands of students from all over Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. The original Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway production played for 717 performances. Brooklyn indie rock quartet Milagres recently released their sophomore full-length album, Violent Light, via Kill Rock Stars in the US (out now via Memphis Industries in the UK). The follow-up to their 2011 debut Glowing Mouth LP, Violent Light finds the band channeling influences as diverse as Al Green, Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush, and introduces a darker, harder sound for the group.
