Pulitzer-Winning Drama DISGRACED to Tour Universities, High Schools in China This Spring

The most produced play in America in 2015-16, Ayad Akhtar's Pulitzer-winning drama Disgraced will tour universities and high schools in China under the direction of Timothy Douglas from April 3 to 30, produced by Ping Pong Productions with grants from the Henry Luce Foundation and the U.S. Embassy in China as well as major support from Chinese hosts and other local partners.

Falcon's Eye Theatre Presents CYRANO

The Falcon's Eye closes its tenth season with Cyrano. The Pearl Extends World Premiere of Kate Hamill's VANITY FAIR

In response to popular demand, The Pearl Theatre Company extends the world premiere of Kate Hamill's Vanity Fair through Sunday, April 30.  Directed by Bedlam's Artistic Director, Eric Tucker, the production will now run from March 24 through April 30.

Cleveland Play House shifts gears from playful (Ken Ludwig's Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery) to profound with the Pulitzer Prize-winning play How I Learned to Drive. Written by Paula Vogel - one of the preeminent figures in American theater today - How I Learned to Drive traverses taboo territory with humor, heart, and empathy.

Greater D.C.-Area Theaters Prep for Return of Women's Voices Theater Festival in 2018

The seven originating theaters of the Women's Voices Theater Festival - Arena Stage, Ford's Theatre, Round House Theatre, Shakespeare Theatre Company, Signature Theatre, Studio Theatre and Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company - have announced preliminary details for the second installment of the Women's Voices Theater Festival, January 15 - February 15, 2018.

WAM Theatre Announces First 2017 Fresh Takes Play Reading

WAM Theatre is delighted to announce that their 2017 Fresh Takes Play reading series will begin with The Flora and Fauna by Alyson Mead, winner of the Arizona-based Bridge Initiative: Women in Theatre New Work Contest.  The play chronicles the celebrations and challenges of a female friendship that spans almost 30 years. Additionally, this opening reading of the Fresh Takes Series will be a partnership with the Berkshire Festival of Women Writers, with a portion of the box office proceeds from the reading going to the Festival.

Hannah Yelland to Star in World Premiere of INTELLIGENCE at Arena Stage; Cast Set!

Jacqueline E. Lawton's new political thriller Intelligence makes its world premiere at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. Under the direction of Daniella Topol (Round House's Ironbound), Intelligence explores the cost of deception and the consequences of speaking truth to power. Due to popular demand, the production has been extended for one week with eight additional performances and will run February 24-April 9, 2017 in the Arlene and Robert Kogod Cradle.

2017 Helen Hayes Award Nominations Announced; COME FROM AWAY Nabs 14 Nominations

The 2017 Helen Hayes Award nominations were announced tonight. A line-up of leading theatre artists announced nominations in 47 categories of artistic excellence. Award recipients will be announced at the Helen Hayes Awards gala event to be held at the Lincoln Theatre on Monday, May 15 with an after-party hosted at Washington's legendary 9:30 Club.
