The Saint Sebastian Players (SSP) and Subtext Theater Company (STC) are collaborating on a performance of "questionable taste": a staged reading of Leigh Johnson's Legalize Lutefisk Live!, performed as a live radio broadcast, takes place Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2 at SSP's theater space at St. Bonaventure, 1625 W. Diversey (enter on Marshfield), Chicago.
Kokandy Productions is pleased to announce the appointment of Derek Van Barham as the company's new Producing Artistic Director, succeeding Allison Hendrix, who served in the position since Kokandy was founded in 2010. Barham is joined by three new Artistic Associates: Adrian Abel Azevedo, Leda Hoffmann and Nik Whitcomb. The new artistic team is supported by Kokandy's Board of Directors, which includes: Preston Cropp, Allison Hendrix, Gitta Jacobs, Scot Kokandy and Katie Svaicer.
The British Independent Film Awards is delighted to announce today that Dame Judi Dench will be this year's recipient of the Richard Harris Award for outstanding contribution by an actor to British film, in recognition of her distinguished career in the UK and advocacy of the British film industry across the globe. LA Rockers BADFLOWER today released a new track along with an accompanying music video for 'x ANA x', the newest song off of the group's forthcoming debut full-length album OK, I'M SICK via Big Machine/John Varvatos Records. Karen Lynn Gorney, star of the movie "Saturday Night Fever" and "All My Children" joins the cast as Eyphah in 'Knock It Off!,' a farce by writer/director Peter Zachari, premiering at Theater for the New City in May 2019. Gorney is joined by Peter Zachari as Thomas, Lori Funk as Marcia/Deidre, Joey Mirabile as Budd, Nora Falk as Cora, Scott Ahearn as Roy and Amandina Altomare as Bernadette. Additional casting for the show will be announced in the coming weeks.

Cortland Repertory Theatre was awarded 9 Syracuse Area Live Theatre (SALT) Awards at a ceremony held on Sunday, November 11, at the Redhouse Theatre in Syracuse. CRT received a total of 54 nominations from five of their summer productions in 2018. The SALT Awards are divided into three categories: Professional, Regional and Community, with CRT falling into the Regional category. Nine Academy members view hundreds of performances around the Central New York area in a year, and vote in a number of acting and technical design categories.

In just two rehearsals, the Darkness RISING cast recorded an album intended for anyone who lives with anxiety, depression, bipolar, or other mental illnesses. Music has been proven be therapeutic and healing. It can provide emotional support, increase motivation, and offer an outlet for expression of feelings.
Today, Methyl Ethel have announced their new album, Triage will be released February 15th on 4AD. Today, they share the single from the forthcoming album along with the accompanying video for 'Real Tight,' directed by Matt Sav. 'Real Tight' is one of the most pop-adjacent tracks [Webb has] ever made, complete with a swelling chorus and some of the most achingly personal lyrics in the Methyl Ethel canon,' Said Noisey. 'Known for filling his verses with abstractions, 'Real Tight' finds Webb making things plain and simple 'I cannot lie/ I don't feel right,' he sings on the track's chorus, a simple plea that's striking in how forward it is, compared to earlier Methyl Ethel songs.' Triage marks the Perth, Australia band's third album. It was written, produced and performed by lead singer Jake Webb, mixed by Marta Salogni and mastered by Heba Kadry. The album was recorded in Webb's home studio in West Perth and is available for pre-order today.
