Dulaang UP (DUP) celebrates the 450th anniversary of William Shakespeare's birth by staging one of the poet and dramatist's problem plays, MEASURE FOR MEASURE, and HAKBANG SA HAKBANG, a Filipino translation by Ron Capinding ('Middle Finger'), at Wilfrido Ma. Guererro Theater, Palma Hall, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City until Sunday, September 7, with performances at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

RABBIT HOLE, a David Lindsay-Abaire opus, presents a story about a wife, Becca, and her family, struggling to get past the loss of Danny, Becca's son, who was killed when he was hit by a car. Red Turnip Theater does not "squeeze blood" from this play, but it definitely paints the turnip red. Red Turnip Theater brings an intimate take on this acclaimed play. Despite some not-so-good things written below, RABBIT HOLE, surely, is an experience!

Commercial video production company !Gung Ho Films lends a hand to Red Turnip Theater to helm the official trailer of the latter's second season opener, David Lindsay-Abaire's 2007 Pulitzer Prize winning play RABBIT HOLE. Directed by Enzo Marcos, the teaser film introduces the play's main cast Michael Williams, Agot Isidro, Sheila Francisco, and Che Ramos-Cosio.

Elton John and Tim Rice's contemporary take on AIDA, a tale of star-crossed lovers based on Giuseppe Verdi's opera of the same title, made it to Manila through Atlantis Productions Inc.'s local production that opened at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City Friday night. (The musical runs until Sunday, July 10)
