59E59 Theaters announces the lineup of shows for the 2019 Summer Season at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Ticket prices range from $15 - $70 ($12 - $49 for 59E59 Members).

Bay Street Theater Announces Title Wave @ Bay Street

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce Title Wave at Bay Street: The 6th Annual New Works Festival, May 3 - 5. All readings are free, but tickets are required, as these events typically sell out. Road Theatre Company Presents Los Angeles Premiere Of AT THE TABLE

THE ROAD THEATRE COMPANY and Taylor Gilbert, Founder/Artistic Director together with Sam Anderson, Artistic Director, present the fourth and final show of its 2018-2019 season, the Los Angeles premiere of AT THE TABLE, written by Michael Perlman and directed by Judith Moreland. AT THE TABLE will preview on Saturday, May 11 at 8pm; Sunday, May 12 at 2pm; Tuesday, May 14; Wednesday, May 15 & Thursday, May 16 at 8pm and will open on Friday, May 17 at 8pm and run through Sunday, July 7 at the Road Theatre on Lankershim, 5108 Lankershim Blvd. (in the Historic Lankershim Arts Center) in North Hollywood.

Liba Vaynberg To Bring Scheiss Book To The Wild Project

Liba Vaynberg's award-winning solo play Scheiss Book: 6 Words for My Condition will return for three benefit nights at the Wild Project on 4/2, 4/7 and 4/9 in collaboration with Fault Line Theatre and Wheelhouse Theatre. Winner of the Backstage Magazine Audience Choice Award and Best One-Woman Show at the United Solo Festival with a record-breaking number of encores and subsequent productions at Dixon Place and Stonewall Inn, Scheiss Book is a solo show for people who hate solo shows. Relatives who survived the Holocaust are mentioned only for comedic purposes. 

April Ranger's BATHSHEBA'S PSALMS To Premiere At The Tank In April

The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) will present the World Premiere of Bathsheba's Psalms, Or A Woman of Unusual Beauty Taking a Bath by April Ranger (Must Wash Hands at Brooklyn College), directed by Christina Roussos (Magic Trick with Caps Lock Theatre) at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues), April 4-21.

Clubbed Thumb Announces Full Line-Up For 24th Annual SUMMERWORKS Festival

Five-time Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb (Maria Striar, Producing Artistic Director; Michael Bulger, Associate Artistic Director; Quinn Metal Corbin, Advancement Director) is proud to announce the line-up for SUMMERWORKS, its annual series of new plays. Now in its 24th season, SUMMERWORKS will run May 17 through June 29 at The Wild Project (195 E 3rd Street) in Manhattan, and will feature productions of three new plays: LUNCH BUNCH by Sarah Einspanier and directed by Tara Ahmadinejad; YOU NEVER TOUCHED THE DIRT by Zhu Yi and directed by Ken Rus Schmoll; and KING PHILIP'S HEAD IS STILL ON THAT PIKE JUST DOWN THE ROAD by Daniel Glenn and directed by Caitlin Ryan O'Connell.

Kitchen Theatre Hosts Live HOLIDAY MATCH GAME

Kitchen Theatre Company (KTC) will deck the halls with laughter as Ithaca-famous celebrities take the stage for the Live KTC Holiday Match Game,  hosted by Kitchen Theatre favorite actor Karl Gregory. THE RUSSIAN & THE JEW To Receive World Premiere at The Tank

The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) in association with Anna & Kitty, Inc. will present the World Premiere of The Russian & The Jew, a political fairy tale about anti-semitism and female friendship in the Soviet Union in 1968, co-written by Liba Vaynberg and Emily Louise Perkins and directed by Ines Braun at The Tank (312 West 36th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues), December 4-20.

Portland Stage Will Stage the World Premiere of REFUGE MALJA

Portland Stage will stage the World Premiere of Refuge Malja by Bess Welden with Arabic Translation by Ali Al-Mshakheel begins Oct 30 through Nov 18, opens for reviewers Friday Nov 2, 2018. When a Jewish-American war photographer feels compelled to assist a young refugee who steps in front of her camera, she calls an old friend to translate but hesitates to reveal why she is so drawn to the boy. This poetic, decade-spanning drama explores how we each define and find our own malja (refuge). Affiliate Artist Bess Welden's Refuge Malja was developed as part of the 2017 Little Festival of the Unexpected and was subsequently workshopped in the Studio Series in January of 2018. Refuge Malja is made possible with support from the Maine Humanities Council and the Maine Arts Commission.

The Department of Theater at Brooklyn College is one of New York City's outstanding institutions in the training of theater artists. With the assistance of a generous grant from the Tow Foundation, the Department of Theater, in conjunction with the MFA Playwriting Program, headed by co-coordinators Mac Wellman and Erin Courtney, will present the annual Weasel Festival, hosted by The Public Theater (August 17-24). This festival of new works, previously produced by the playwrights, will feature performances of full length plays written by Kate Dakota Kremer, Rachel Kauder Nalebuff, Jerry Lieblich, and April Ranger all of whom are recent graduates of the MFA Playwrighting Program at Brooklyn College.

CYRANO, Starring Peter Dinklage, Begins Run at Goodspeed Musicals

Casting of Goodspeed Musicals' Cyrano is complete. Film and TV actor Blake Jenner will play Christian. He joins previously announced Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Peter Dinklage, who will play Cyrano alongside film actress Haley Bennett as Roxanne in this bold new musical.

Lesser America Premieres AGNES At 59E59 Theaters

59E59 Theaters (Val Day, Artistic Director; Brian Beirne, Managing Director) presents the NYC premiere of AGNES, written by Catya McMullen and directed by Jenna Worsham. Produced by Lesser America, in association with Hugh Hayes, AGNES begins performances on Saturday, September 8 for a limited engagement through Saturday, September 29.
