WE tv announced today its new original tell-all series, 'Untold Stories of Hip Hop,' featuring never-before-told tales from the biggest names in hip hop. Set to premiere this fall, the series from Creature Films (Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G.), features interviews with Cardi B, Snoop Dogg, Queen Latifah, Ice Cube, Nelly, A$AP Rocky, DJ Khaled, Wyclef Jean, Ja Rule, Fat Joe and more, and is hosted by the foremost radio personality in hip hop, Angie Martinez.

At the tender age of only 11 yrs old, singersongwriter Penelope Robin's philanthropic efforts have already been making a BIG impact on not only the music world, but animal activism through her #AdoptYourBestie initiative, and now the world of Environmental Conservation. Teaming up with EcoPod - the new alternative to single-use plastics for home and personal care products - the company is launching a brand new initiative with Robin as youth ambassador along with her new song “World Full of Love”. Recording Academy Announces Industry-Wide Initiative To Expand Opportunities For Female Producers and Engineers

Today, the Recording Academy's Task Force on Diversity and Inclusion announced an unprecedented new initiative that aims to expand opportunities for female music producers and engineers. The Producer & Engineer Inclusion Initiative is the inaugural action of a larger strategy to address gender inequity in the music industry. According to a 2018 USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative study, only 2 percent of music producers and 3 percent of engineers/mixers across popular music are women. This initiative is the first step in a broader effort to improve those numbers and increase diversity and inclusion for all in the music industry.

MTV kicked off the final phase of its first ever midterm campaign,'+1 the Vote,' by announcing a series of new initiatives and plans for an 'Election Afterparty' at Miami Dade College (MDC) on Tuesday, November 6 th from 7PM to 10PM ET. The event is set to be the largest youth-focused election party in the country and will feature performances by Fat Joe, PRETTYMUCH, DJ Nasty and Lauren Jauregui. The 'Afterparty' kicks off when the polls close in Florida and will celebrate the efforts of young people across the nation getting out the vote.

PBS Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

PBS announced today that it will air the 31st ANNUAL HISPANIC HERITAGE AWARDS on Friday, September 28 at 10:00 p.m. ET (check local listings) as part of its ongoing commitment to celebrate and honor the contributions of Hispanic Americans as recognized by The Hispanic Heritage Foundation. The awards are the country's highest honor given to Latinos by Latinos. The ceremony, which will be hosted by digital content creators Lele Pons and Rudy Mancuso, recognizes excellence in a number of fields, from the arts to community service to entrepreneurship, and features celebrity appearances and musical performances from Fonseca, Karol G, José Feliciano, Jesse & Joy and more. The awards are presented at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC.

The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago, partnering with national and local community organizations, artist practitioners and scholars, continues its B-Series, a biannual celebration of hip hop and street dance, with Under 1 Roof: A House & Hip-Hop Convergence featuring B-Bout It, a street-dance jam and battle. Partnering with Kuumba Lynx, Urbanized Music, BraveSoul Movement, Modern Dance Music Research and Archiving Foundation, New Rhythm Arts Center and The Community Schools Program, the B-Series presents a mini hip-hop and street dance festival featuring presentations, workshops, dialogue sessions and a community dance jam and competition.
