A CRY FOR JUSTICE Takes First Place at 2013 Alaska International Film Festival

The movie, A Cry for Justice, tells the powerful story of how Jackie Carpenter's idyllic life turned into a living nightmare when her son went on trial for felony murder after he accidentally shot a man stealing from his worksite. At that time, Jackie had no way of knowing her son's trial would become a textbook case that would make law history – or that the screenplay for the movie (from her two books) would win First Place in the Alaska International Film Festival!

Baltimore Playwrights Festival to Open COUNTDOWN TO THE HAPPY DAY, 8/9

The Baltimore Playwrights Festival (www.baltplayfest.org) continues its Thirty-Second Season with the August 9th opening of Countdown to the Happy Day, by Thomas W. An Evil Mage only had his daughter, The Child, so that he could have a servant trained by himself, loyal only to himself, one who, because of blood ties he could control, if not her mind, at least her body. Many times, he had her do cruel things against her will, and if she cried, he enjoyed it more so that he would lengthen the time she was forced to watch her body hurt someone, thus torturing both his victims for a longer time. Because of this, The Child learned long ago not to display her feelings.
