Lisa Brodeur reflects on surviving a tragic accident through faith, hope and courage in her heartfelt new memoir, "A Mother's Journey: Through Faith, Hope, and Courage" (published by AuthorHouse).

"I think my book will appeal to readers because it's a true story, a story about survival, having faith, hope and courage to not give up," Brodeur writes. "It's an inspirational story, a love for your children to guide them in the right direction. A book to show you what happens when bad choices are made but also, how to try to overcome it."

It was November 1997 when Brodeur and her family were hit by a drunk driver. Her husband was killed instantly, and her son, Kyle, was paralyzed. She and her daughters, only three and five years old, also sustained injuries. "A Mother's Journey" chronicles her experiences in the aftermath of the accident and reveals the struggles she and her children faced as they learned to adjust to a new life.

"This book will make someone think about his or her choices," Brodeur says. "Making the wrong choice, like doing drugs or driving intoxicated, can have a lasting impact on your life and the lives of others. Someone else's choices caused this mother's family to go on a journey that no one should ever have to endure."
