Central City Opera complements its two mainstage productions this summer with two one-act operas-Mozart's The Impresario and John Musto's Later the Same Evening-performed in smaller venues in Central City and in creative spaces in Colorado Springs, Boulder, and Denver. Both of these shorter operas are performed by members of the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation Artists Training Program.

Victory Gardens Theater concludes its 41st season with Midwest Premiere of The House That Will Not Stand by Ensemble Playwright Marcus Gardley, directed by Artistic Director Chay Yew. The Public Theater has announced the expansion of Public Works with ACTivate, a new tier of the groundbreaking initiative designed to bind our community together by creating acts of participatory theater to examine the great issues and dilemmas of our time. Expanding the participant's role in the artistic process, ACTivate bridges the gap between the year-round classes and annual Delacorte pageant in September, engaging the ensemble in every aspect of the creative process and culminating in an original piece. On May 2nd, The 52nd Street Project held their annual benefit, LAUGHING MATTERS, Kids' Stand-up, Adults Deliver at the Edison Ballroom in New York. The raucous sold-out event hosted by comedians Lewis Black and Kathleen Madigan, was The Project's most successful to date with over 350 people in attendance, raising funds for the Project's academic and artistic mentoring programming. The Project makes a difference in the lives of Hell's Kitchen (Clinton) kids by pairing them with theater professionals who mentor them through the creation of original theater.
