ICT Announces Redemption As Topic For 8th Season, Beginning 2010

Infamous Commonwealth Theatre (ICT) is proud to announce the topic for their eighth season: REDEMPTION. ICT is taking a break from producing for the remainder of 2009 in order to focus on internal administrative changes. However, ICT plans to explore the many facets of our new season topic with three upcoming productions in 2010.

HEART OF THE CITY With Foss, Kerns, Kurtz Begins 6/11 At Theater At 30th Street

Fern Kershon and Orange Thought Productions will present Heart of the City, a new play by Eric Lane, directed by Martha Banta, featuring Eliza Foss, Scott Kerns, Marcia Jean Kurtz, Martin LaPlatney, Melissa Miller and Mark Setlock. Performances will begin Thursday June 11th at the Theatre at 30th Street, for a limited engagement.

Atlas Stage Presents Theater Of The Film Noir 3/7, 3/9

Atlas Stage Productions Canada will be presenting Theatre of the Film Noir in the Studio Theatre of the Toronto Centre for the Arts on Saturday March 7 and Sunday March 9. Theatre of the Film Noir is written by the prolific Canadian playwright, George F. Walker and is directed by Miroslaw Polatynski. The play is set in Paris shortly after its liberation from German occupation forces during WW II.

CSC's Bragg Announces Details For 2009-2010 Season

Canadian Stage Company Artistic Producer Martin Bragg announced today details regarding the 2009-2010 Season, marking his final season with the Company after 17 memorable years. The Company's 22nd subscription season kicks off in September and includes five plays at the Bluma Appel Theatre and three at the Berkeley Street Theatre. Rounding out the playbill is the annual CanStage TD Dream in High Park. Season subscriptions are available with 5-play packages starting from $90 and 8-play packages starting from $138. Kuhn and Faridany Join '39 Steps' Cast 10/28; Saunders and Ferrin to Depart

Jeffrey Kuhn and Francesca Faridany will join the cast of Alfred Hitchcock's THE 39 STEPS on Tuesday, October 28. Kuhn will play the role of Man #1 and Faridany will play the roles of Annabella Schmidt, Margaret and Pamela. Current cast members Jennifer Ferrin and Cliff Saunders will play their final performances on Sunday, October 26. THE 39 STEPS, the winner of two Tony Awards, two Drama Desk Awards and the 2007 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy, is playing at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street, between Sixth and Seventh Avenues).

'Seven' Playwrights Document Worldwide Injustice to Women at 92Y on Jan.21

On Monday, January 21, at 8PM, the 92nd Street Y Unterberg Poetry Center will present the world premiere of Seven, a documentary theater piece based on the real-life stories of seven extraordinary women from around the world who overcame adversity to make their voices heard as advocates for change.
