Melbourne Theatre Company Artistic Director & Co-CEO Anne-Louise Sarks revealed her inaugural season for the Company, marking a new artistic era for Victoria's state theatre company.

Opening at the Arts Centre Melbourne’s Fairfax Theatre in March 2022, this entirely original stage adaptation of the iconic and provocative short story Yentl, is the first since the 1975 Broadway play, and the first new adaptation since the pop culture phenomenon that was Barbra Streisand’s 1983 musical film. 

Melbourne Shakespeare Company’s moving contemporary adaptation of Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy – King Lear is a tender, violent, and intimate exploration of old age portrayed in all its vulnerability, pride, folly and wisdom.

Acclaimed Melbourne theatre performer Evelyn Krape will celebrate women of all ages in her new one-woman show More Female Parts at Arts Centre Melbourne's Fairfax Studio from 30 June - 4 July.

Described as a 'comic genius: Australian actor/comic, writer and human rights attorney, Jeremie Bracka, who won rave reviews from theatre critics and standing ovations from audiences when he first appeared in New York City at the 2007 NY International Fringe Festival in his one-man tour de force, Enough About Me•••••Let's Talk about Jew! returns to the New York stage with his newest international hit, Arafat in Therapy, for three performances only at New York's 2013 United Solo Theatre Festival on Theatre Row tonight, October 29 at 9 PM, Sunday, Nov. 3 at 6 PM and Sunday Nov. 4 at 6 PM. (Note: The performances on Sunday, Oct. 29 and Nov. 3 are virtually sold out; tickets for Sunday, Nov. 4 at 6 PM are available.)
