This Just In! Intended initially for a limited run, and turning into a 2+ year hit, Newsies, featuring a score with music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken and lyrics by Jack Feldman, with a book by four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein, will play its final performance at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre onS unday, August 24, 2014 prior to launching its national tour in October. Produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, Newsies is directed by Jeff Calhoun and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli.

The 25th anniversary celebration of GYPSY OF THE YEAR, the culmination of six weeks of extraordinary fundraising by 56 participating Broadway, Off-Broadway, and national touring companies, raised an amazing $4,343,234 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The grand total was announced Tuesday, December 10, at this year's GYPSY OF THE YEAR, which included an array of original dances, songs, and skits performed by more than 250 'gypsies,' the most talented singers and dancers in the ensembles of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows.

Newsies, the hit Tony Award-winning musical celebrated its first year on Broadway with its entire creative team and Mauro Castano from Carlo's Bakery and TLC's 'Cake Boss,' who created a one of a kind cake for the special occasion.
This past weekend, Nigel Lythgoe and Adam Shankman of "So You Think You Can Dance" attended a performance of Newsies, the Tony Award winning new American musical, and visited with the cast backstage afterwards. The honor is the only industry accolade of its kind and honors the distinctive talents and contributions made by the original chorus members of a Broadway musical.

CAROLS FOR A CURE is the annual two-disc holiday CD compilation of original songs and holiday classics which benefits BC/EFA.
