59E59 to Present World Premiere of Frank McGuinness' 'Gates of Gold'

Gates of Gold, a new drama by Frank McGuinness will open at 59E59 on Tuesday, January 27, 2008. Directed by Lonnie Price, the production will be produced by Artists Theatre Group, Sally Jacobs and Warren Baker. McGuinness, a Tony Award winner, has his new version of Oedipus, starring Ralph Fiennes opening at the National Theatre in London and will soon have his adaptation of Ibsen's The Master Builder opening in New York at the Irish Repertory Theatre on October 29.

The Irish Repertory Theatre will open its 2008-2009 season with the world premiere of Tony Award winning playwright Frank McGuinness's adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's THE MASTER BUILDER. McGuinness' adaptation was commissioned by the Irish Rep and will be directed by Ciaran O'Reilly.

Lincoln Center to Present Premiere of British Sensation 'Waves'

Great writers and great works of literature are the thematic thread running through the 2008-09 season of Lincoln Center's Great Performers 'New Visions' series, this year subtitled, 'The Literary Muse.' A work by celebrated English novelist Virginia Woolf is the inspiration for the third presentation of the series. Opening on November 12, The National Theatre of Great Britain's award-winning, multi-media production of Waves will have its U.S. Premiere at The Duke on 42nd StreetSM, a New 42nd Street project.
