Fleece the Flock, a new musical, will have a special reading at the Theatre Artist Workshop in Norwalk, CT on Thursday September 18th at 8PM. Admission is free.

Come meet Pastor Clem and his zany family, wife Prissy Mae and son Jimmy Bob - and foxy church secretary, Sheila, freshly delivered from the slimy grasp of Satan.  As part of the congregation, you will be involved in the subterfuge and intrigue as the Pastor attempts to collect millions to build his Bible Theme Park.  This pulpit pounding romp with the wickedly snappy lyrics and music by Two Guys from Tennessee will hopefully have you anxiously awaiting your chance to empty your wallets into Pastor Clem's collection plate.  But wait -- maybe not so fast?

Fleece the Flock is directed by Joel Vig.  He is perhaps best known for creating the starring role in the Off Broadway cult hit, Ruthless.  He was one of the original stars of the Broadway mega hit Hairspray which won the Tony for best musical and the Grammy for best cast album.  He has recently developed new works for Academy Award winner Patricia Neal and two time Tony winner Tammy Grimes.

The toe-tappin' score of Fleece the Flock covers a wide range of musical style, everything from a tango to a boot scootin' two-step.  Based in Tennessee, composer Kelly Moore and lyricist Bruce Peterson, otherwise known as Two Guys from Tennessee, have been collaborating for over 20 years.  They are currently at work on their next project, a rock opera based on the life of Eleanor Roosevelt.

The show is under development for a future regional presentation as well as an Off Broadway production.  Elizabeth Fuller wrote the book for this musical spoof.  Her last play, Me & Jezebel ran Off-Broadway and is currently being performed in cities throughout the U.S.  This past year it has had three productions in Europe and two in Sydney, Australia.  The Argus News in Brighton, England wrote, "For an evening of high-quality theatre, it would be surprising if there is anything in the Festival Fringe to beat this witty two-hander."

The cast of Fleece the Flock includes:  Jodi Stevens.  Jodi's career spans from Broadway (Jekyll & Hyde and Urban Cowboy) to TV/Film to recording and Cabaret.   Thomas Taylor Poarch, recent New York credits include:  Eugene Ionesco's The Lesson (Professor), Blake Edward's Victor/Victoria (King Marchan), and Euripides' Iphiginia at Auiis (Menelaus). Currently Off- Broadway in Awesome 80's Prom. Ellen Muth, cult star of Sci Fi series Dead Like Me.  Clayton Wheat started his career in New Orleans as co-founder of "The Storyville Ensemble."  Most recently, he appeared with Keir Dullea in a tribute to Shakespeare.  He will be appearing in the soon to be released film, Closers.
