The Broadway community mourns the loss of producer, talent agent, and stage manager Samuel 'Biff' Liff, who passed away on Monday night at age 96. The marquees of Broadway theatres in New York will be dimmed in his memory tonight, August 14th at exactly 7:45pm for one minute.

VWA Theatricals' THE LAST FIVE YEARS Opens Tonight at Darkhorse

VWA Theatricals has found its Cathy and Jamie for the upcoming production of Jason Robert Brown's The Last Five Years: Delaney Amatrudo and Luke Denison. Amatrudo and Denison will lead the cast for the musical, which opens tonight and runs through August 22 at Nashville's iconic Darkhorse Theater. Amatrudo currently studies at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and Denison is a recent graduate of Indiana University.

Songs from FIDDLER, CABARET, PHANTOM and More Set for PRINCE OF BROADWAY in Japan

As previously reported, the World Premiere of PRINCE OF BROADWAY, a new musical celebrating the extraordinary six decade Broadway career of producer-director Harold Prince, will play from October 23-November 22, 2015 at Tokyu Theatre Orb in Tokyo, Japan and November 28-December 10, 2015 at Umeda Arts Theater, Main Hall, in Osaka, Japan. As Eugene O'Neill's indomitable Josie Hogan, six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald stomps, kicks, shoves and brandishes a big stick as she asserts her dominance over her father Phil (Glynn Turman), her landlord and wannabe love interest James Tyrone (Will Swenson), and anyone else who gets in her way.

Winners of Samuel French's 40th Annual Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival Announced!

Samuel French has announced the winners of the 2015 Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival, the nation's leading short play competition. The six winning plays were presented in a Showcase on Sunday, August 9th at the conclusion of the week-long festival at the East 13th Street Theater (Classic Stage Company). These plays will be published, and available for licensing by Samuel French in the 40th Annual edition of its Off Off Broadway Plays collection:

Steppenwolf Theatre Company announces casting for First Look 2015, a program dedicated to new play development, today, August 11, through August 16, 2015 in the Upstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St). First Look 2015 features six staged readings, providing an early look at works-in-progress from some of the most dynamic playwrights in the field. The mission of First Look is to develop new plays for future production at Steppenwolf and other theaters across the country.

Breaking News: Camryn Manheim & Patrick Page Board Broadway Revival of SPRING AWAKENING

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that that Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Camryn Manheim ('The Practice,' 'Ghost Whisperer'), Drama Desk Award nominee Patrick Page (Cymbeline at Shakespeare in the Park, Casa Valentina, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark), and Theater World Award winner Russell Harvard (Tribes, 'Fargo,' There Will Be Blood), have completed the casting for Deaf West's acclaimed production of Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik's Spring Awakening, directed byMichael Arden and choreographed by Spencer Liff. Elizabeth Greene and Daniel Marmion also join the production as swings.

Abrons Arts Center Sets 2015-16 Season of Theatre, Dance & More

On February 12, 1915, the Abrons Arts Center's Henry Street Settlement Playhouse opened its doors on the Lower East Side.
