The Philippines Joins Eve Ensler's ONE BILLION RISING Today

Community groups Gabriela Women's Party and Gabriela, which fight for Filipino women's rights, and theater organization New Voice Company, which is best known for its repeated 'stagings' of Tony winner Eve Ensler's 'The Vagina Monologues' in the Philippines, will join women and men in 200 countries to celebrate Ensler's 15-year effort to end violence against women and girls via ONE BILLION RISING, where participants 'strike, dance, and rise' along Tomas Morato Avenue in Quezon City on Valentine's Day, today, February 14.

BONA: Lino Brocka’s Film Gets Stage Adaptation, Now thru 9/23

A past entry to both Metro Manila Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival, BONA, a critically-acclaimed work of Catalino Ortiz Brocka aka Lino Brocka (1939-1991) that gave the "superstar in Philippine entertainment industry," Nora Aunor, her Best Actress trophy at the Gawad Urian in 1980, will soon come alive through a stage adaptation by Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) starting today, August 24 until Sunday, September 23 at PETA Theater Center. The stage production stars multi-award-winning theater, movie, and television actress Eugene Domingo.
