Maria Guida Swings the Standards is set for The Metropolitan Room next month.

Just last night, Jordan Harrison (Marjorie Prime) and Zayd Dohrn (The Profane) were presented with the 2016 Horton Foote Prize for Outstanding New American Play and Promising New American Play, respectively. BroadwayWorld was there for the big night and you can check out photos below!

The Front Page, Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur's classic 1928 comedy set in the world of the Chicago newspaper business, just had its official opening last week at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 W. 44th Street). BroadwayWorld brings you photos from the star-studded red carpet below!

MAN IN SNOW - the newest work by celebrated playwright Israel Horovitz (OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF BABES) - will receive its New York premiere this fall at La MaMa's First Floor Theatre (77 E. 4 St.) with previews beginning November 11 prior to opening night November 14, 2016.   Mr. Horovitz also directs the play. 

Primary Stages hosted its 2016 Gala celebrating the Horton Foote Centennial last night, October 17, 2016 at 6:30 pm at 583 Park Avenue. The even twas chaired by CharLes Davis, HAllie Foote, David Richenthal and Michael Wilson, and featured performances and tributes by Elizabeth Ashley, Harriet Harris, Jayne Houdyshell, Estelle Parsons (pictured, left) and Molly Ringwald. Honorary co-chairs for the event include Matthew Broderick, Robert and Luciana Duvall, James Earl Jones and Cicely Tyson. Scroll down for photos from the festivities!

A play with music, A Star Has Burnt My Eye is inspired by the extraordinary true story of Connie Converse. An unknown musician living in Greenwich Village in the early 1950s, Converse wrote and self-recorded original music-by turns beautiful, poetic, funny, and haunting-that was far ahead of its time. A quarter of a century later, long despairing of finding an audience for her art, Converse left goodbye letters that weren't quite suicide notes, and vanished.

The Cleveland area has been and is ripe with playwrights. Mike Geither, David Hansen, Margaret Lynch, Jonathan Wilhelm, Michael Oatman, Eric Schmiedl and Faye Sholiton are only a few of the present-day writers. Historically, Langston Hughes, Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee were proud area playwrights. Probably no local scribe has been more prolific than Eric Coble.

Dixon Place will present InTandem Lab's Instructions to Decode A(n In)human transformation, a postmodern punk 'roach' Kabaret inspired by Franz Kafka's The Metamorphosis. Written in verse by Gisela Cardenas and delivered as spoken poetry by a cast of three, I2Decode explores the intertwining of live music, video mapping and words. Ryan Justesen (Playwrights Horizons/NYU) will direct the inaugural production under the artistic direction of InTandem Lab.

It's a special premiere event!  The ACTORS STUDIO will debut the new production of Harold Pinter's Old Times at The Ridgefield Playhouse before it heads to NYC for its Broadway run September 22 - October 15!

59E59 Theaters welcomes Libra Theater Company with TOUCH, written by Toni Press-Coffman and directed by Nathaniel Shaw. TOUCH began performances on August 18 for a limited engagement through Sunday, September 4. Press opening is tonight, August 24 at 7:30 PM.
