Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers, featuring Edie Brickell add Philadelphia stop to their North American tour, which kicked off on May 22 in Ft. Meyers, Florida. The highly anticipated tour is the first for Martin and Brickell, who will perform songs from their album Love Has Come for You tonight, June 27 at 8 p.m. at the Kimmel Center's Verizon Hall.

GIRLS IN THE BAND Set for 2-Week Run at Quad Cinema

Following a successful weeklong run at Lincoln Center, the acclaimed documentary The Girls in the Band is coming to New York's Quad Cinema for a two-week run beginning May 24. Written, directed and produced by Judy Chaikin and produced and executive produced by Michael Greene, the film tells the stories of female jazz and big band instrumentalists from the 1920s to the present day and chronicles their inspired journeys and struggles for recognition. To celebrate the film's Lincoln Center premiere, Mayor Bloomberg declared May 10 "Women in Jazz Day." Tickets for the Quad Cinema screenings will be available here. The film will also play for one week in Los Angeles at the Laemmle Noho 7 beginning June 4. Screening times and tickets for the Los Angeles run are available at here.

The National Symphony Orchestra Pops will present three performances of The Wizard and I: The Musical Journey of Stephen Schwartz May 16-18 in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. Led by Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke, the performances feature performances by Jeremy Jordan, Norm Lewis, Julia Murney, Jennifer Laura Thompson, and The Washington Chorus. The performances celebrate Stephen Schwartz's 65th birthday as well as the 10th anniversary of the perennially 'popular' Wicked, and Mr. Schwartz will make a special appearance in each of the three programs, performing and sharing stories of the creation of Wicked.
