In tonight's episode of ABC's new anthology drama WICKED CITY, serial killer Kent looks to take his relationship with single mom Betty to the next level, in more ways than one. Recently, I talked with Ed Westwick (GOSSIP GIRL) and Erika Christensen (PARENTHOOD) about the bizarre love story of these obviously damaged individuals.

Very little can shock American TV viewers anymore. From gore to profanity to nudity, we've more or less seen it all since cable became a leader in high quality, ground-breaking programming. While the standards and practices associated with broadcasting over the public airwaves normally hamstring networks, that doesn't mean that they aren't actively looking to push the limits of TV dramas. Next Tuesday at 10/9c, ABC premieres its new anthology series WICKED CITY, which they have actively advertised as "pushing the boundaries of network TV." The show centers on a sexy, serial killing couple in glamourous 1980's Los Angeles, and like everything else in the decade, the sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll are all done to excess.
"We are extremely proud of the series the studio is producing for ABC and other networks. This TV season is especially exciting as we have increased the number of quality shows over last season," said Patrick Moran, EVP, ABC Studios.
ABC continues its commitment to great storytelling with the announcement of its 2015-16 slate of programming, including the addition of 10 new series. Paul Lee, president, ABC Entertainment Group, will unveil the network's new lineup to the advertising and media communities this afternoon at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall.

On this week's PARENTHOOD:
Dylan cannot be partners with Max, but Max continues to pester her. Presumably because of his Asperger's, he doesn't understand when to let go. It's really upsetting when you think about it… and he can't do anything about it (something Dylan notes later on in the episode). Poor Max. :-(. It doesn't get any better when he's accused of “harassing” Dylan — and her parents come in and blast Adam and Kristina in front of the entire parent body. This whole plot line is a continuation of the brilliant acting we saw from Max Burkholder last week — he continues to kill it here, especially in the first scene — and when he comes to terms with the fact that he, in fact, doesn't understand all social cues and needs work, despite his Asperger's. Really great character growth and much deserved considering where we first started with him (like, way back in Season 1). (Bonus points for Kristina and Adam's incredibly parenthood pep talk! I mean, who doesn't want to be a Braverman?!)
