Fifteen young singer/actors have been named as finalists for the 2016 Lotte Lenya Competition. Selected from thirty-one semifinalists, this year's finalists represent a diverse range of performers, ages 21 to 31, from across the United States, Canada, Europe and Israel. All will sing repertoire from the operatic, golden age and contemporary musical stages, and of course, the music of Kurt Weill.

Mercury Theater Chicago, 3745 N. Southport Avenue, announces that The Christmas Schooner will be sailing for its fifth year at Mercury Theater Chicago, running November 25 through December 27, 2015. The whole family will enjoy this heart-warming musical story of the first Christmas tree ship and the family who risked their lives to fill Chicago with the Christmas spirit. Broadway musician and Alzheimer's Association advocate,Dave Roth, is announcing the launch of the 4th Annual Broadway Alzheimer's iPod Drive starting August 1st and running through August 19th. Dave's mother suffered from Alzheimer's disease and was stripped of awareness and language for the 3 years prior to her death this past December. Now his father suffers from the same disease. He brought his mother her favorite music with the use of an iPod and watched her sing words that he hadn't heard her speak in years.
