JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR Opens on 7/5 at the Barn Theatre

Opening July 5 at the Barn Theatre - the rock opera JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR running through July 17.
JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR reimagines the last seven days leading up to the death of Christ (portrayed by newcomer Jay Poff,) told through the eyes of Judas Iscariot (portrayed by Eric Parker.) The opera traces Christ's arrival in Jerusalem, the Betrayal, Passion and Crucifixion. Also starring are Equity members Samantha Rickard as Mary Magdalene, John Jay Espino as King Herod, Charlie King as Caiaphas, Brendan Ragotzy as Pontius Pilate and Patrick Hunter as Annas. Nearly the entire Barn company is featured as well. This revolutionary, award-winning musical with a 70's infused rock vibe, features legendary hits such as "I Don't Know How to Love Him," "Heaven On Their Minds" and "Jesus Christ Superstar." First introduced to audiences as a concept album in 1970, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice changed the sound of Broadway in 1971. A feature film hit screens in 1973 bringing this magnificent score to the masses on the air waves as well. JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR has had Broadway revivals in 1977, 2000 and 2012, U.S. tours, with London productions and tours as well.Performances for JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR are Tuesday - Saturday at 8:00 pm and Sunday at 5:00 pm through JULY 5 - 17. *Other ASL performances will be offered for Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID July 21 & 28 and THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW August 3 & 10.
