On Sunday October 5th, The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) concluded its fifth year, a year which featured 24 full productions, a dance series, a developmental series, concerts and special events. To celebrate the successful 2008 Festival, NYMF'S BROADWAY PROM took place that same evening Sunday 5th 2008 at TOUCH (240 W 53nd Street) from 8PM to 12am.

It's been an amazing thing to watch the growth of Broadway Idol (yes folks, don't be fooled by the name change due to copyright infringement fears!) over the past three years. Though it began as a kitschy idea concocted after a few gin and tonics with my good friend Lily Hung (now NYMF's Development Director) our little contest has actually grown into an exciting showcase for uber-talented and undiscovered musical theater performers. (Did you hear last year's winner, George Psomas, made his Broadway debut this year in SOUTH PACIFIC?)

30 Days of NYMF, DAY 6: Written by Eric Louie (NYMF Associate Producer/Co-producer of 'Broadway Idol')

The New York Musical Theatre Festival, Soul Steps LLC and Eric Louie present STEP. Performances will take place on Sunday, September 30 at 2PM & 5PM with a recently added performance, due to popular demand, on Saturday, October 6 at 11PM at The 45th Street Theater.

The 2006 NYMF Awards for Excellence were presented on Sunday, November 12th at the Hudson Theatre, and BroadwayWorld was there!

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) and Latin Kingdom Entertainment will present Kingdom from September 13th through 23rd
