Carnegie Hall Launches Free Interactive Video Series THE CONNECTED MUSICIAN

This month, Carnegie Hall is launching The Connected Musician—an interactive, self-paced video series for collegiate and early professional instrumental performers. The Connected Musician is intended to expand on musicians’ toolkits, inviting them to consider new ways to engage with audiences using a plethora of digital resources.

Ensemble Connect Presents Audience Engagement Intensive

After a successful launch of the pilot program in summer 2017, Ensemble Connect once again presents the week-long Audience Engagement Intensive (AEI) from June 4–11 in Carnegie Hall's Resnick Education Wing. Seven pre-formed chamber ensembles selected from across U.S. and Canada—ranging in styles from classical to contemporary to folk music—come together to learn from leaders in the fields of performance and audience engagement. The eight days of tuition-free workshops are modeled after the training that is provided to Ensemble Connect fellows and is aimed at strengthening their ability to connect with all kinds of audiences. The ensembles are The Raritan Trio (New Jersey), Sprig of That (Minnesota), Catharsis Winds (Ohio), Kahlo String Quartet (formed in Mississippi), Trio Gaia (Massachusetts), Front Porch (Michigan), and Genesis Trio (Vancouver, Canada).

League of American Orchestras' Conference 2015 Set for Cleveland This Week

Nearly 1,000 stakeholders from across the orchestra field will attend the League of American Orchestras' Conference 2015, this week, May 27-29 in Cleveland, marking the first time a League Conference has been hosted by The Cleveland Orchestra. Orchestra managers, musicians, staff, trustees, and volunteers will interact with experts from within the arts community and beyond, attending general and elective sessions, live performances, and social and networking events.
