Lancisi and running from May 17 through June 18, 2017.

Princess Grace Foundation-USA Announces 2016 Award Winners In Theater, Dance & Film

The Princess Grace Foundation-USA (PGF-USA) has announced the winners of the 2016 Princess Grace Awards.  The Annual Gala will continue the legacy of Princess Grace (Kelly) of Monaco, who helped emerging artists pursue their artistic goals during Her lifetime.  In total, the Foundation is awarding over $1 million to artists in theater, dance, and film.   In the presence of Their Serene Highnesses The Prince and The Princess of Monaco, this year's Gala will be held at Cipriani 25 Broadway on October 24, 2016.  The evening will be co-chaired by Lisa and Richard Plepler, Sidney and Katia Toledano, and Gillian Murphy and Ethan Stiefel. Major Gala supporters include: Christian Dior Couture, as Presenting Sponsor and Mrs. Lily Safra as Crown Sponsor.

Everyman Theatre has announced its 25th anniversary season. For the first time ever, the company will present a rotating repertory of two masterpieces of American theatre: Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller and A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams. Both productions will feature the same cast and performances will rotate from day to day. Known as The Great American Rep, this event will take place from April 5 through June 12, 2016.

The most awarded African-American playwright in history, August Wilson's crowning achievement was his ten-play cycle, August Wilson's 20th Century in which each work is set in a different decade in the 1900's. The cycle, often titled the Pittsburgh Cycle because nine of the ten plays are set in Pittsburgh, chronicles the African-American experience in the 20th century. August Wilson's 20th Century will be presented in a series of staged readings at the Kennedy Center.
