Celebrating the 20th broadcast of the Billboard Latin Music Awards on Telemundo, the network revealed today the complete list of finalists for the longest-running and most prestigious awards show in the Latin music world. The grand event will be produced by Telemundo and Tony Mojena/Ants TV Productions, Inc., and broadcast live on Telemundo Thursday, April 26 at 7pm/6c from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Censored in the late 18th Century by the Catholic Church, Astucias por heredar un sobrino a un tio (Tricks to Inherit: A Nephew from his Uncle) was the first play ever performed by Hispanic settlers in Central California where the original manuscript was preserved in the Santa Cruz/Monterey area. The original is now in the Bancroft Library at the University of Berkeley and the critical annotated edition by Dr. Pedro Garcia-Caro of the University of Oregon was published in 2016 by Arte Publico Press (Houston.) This will be the play's first production in over 200 years, presented in masterful commedia dell'arte style by director Robi Arce and a superb cast in the original Spanish verse with English supertitles.
