The National Tour of IF/THEN, starring Tony Award-winner and Broadway superstar Idina Menzel (Wicked, Rent, Frozen, Glee), Tony Award-winner LaChanze (The Color Purple, Once on This Island), Anthony Rapp(Rent, Six Degrees of Separation, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown) and James Snyder (Cry-Baby, Rock of Ages), begins performances tonight, October 13, at the Buell Theatre at Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

It's less than a week before the IF/THEN national tour officially opens in Denver, and the cast is hard at work. Check out Idina Menzel, James Snyder and LaChanze backstage below!

Along with Theatre in the Park, Playmakers Repertory Company, ABC 11 and Durham Arts Council, DPAC hosted this year's Triangle Rising Stars Awards onstage on Tuesday evening, May 19. Scroll down for photos from the ceremony!

Next to Normal is an original musical by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey that tells the story of a mother who struggles with worsening bipolar disorder and the effect that her illness and the attempts to alleviate it have on her family. The musical also addresses such issues as grieving a loss, suicide, drug abuse, ethics in modern psychiatry, and the underbelly of suburban life.

Along with Theatre in the Park, Playmakers Repertory Company and ABC 11, DPAC (Durham Performing Arts Center) has announced the success of our 2014 Triangle Rising Star best actress and best actor winners, English Bernhardt and Matthew Washington, at the sixth annual National High School Musical Theatre Awards held in New York City on Monday, June 30th, 2014. Bernhardt was awarded Best Performance in an Ensemble and Washington was awarded the Spirit of the Jimmy Awards, two of only five awards given out among the fifty-six national finalists.

The 6th Annual National High School Musical Awards presented the coveted Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actress and Best Performance by an Actor on Monday, June 30 at Broadway's Minskoff Theater, to Jai' Len Josey representing the Georgia High School Musical Theater Awards - Shuler Hensley Awards and Jonah Rawitz, representing the Illinois High School Musical Theater Awards. Stevenson High School), representing the Illinois High School Musical Theater Awards, was awarded the coveted Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Broadway's Minskoff Theater. The Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actress was presented to Jai'Len Josey, representing the Georgia High School Musical Theater Awards -- Shuler Hensley Awards.

McCartan recently starred as JD in the Off-Broadway hit musical, Heathers, appears regularly as Diggy in Liv & Maddie on the Disney Channel, and is a recurring character on the USA Network's Royal Pains. The event will be held at the Minskoff Theatre (200 W. 45th St) and begins at 7:30 pm.

Along with Theatre in the Park, Playmakers Repertory Company and ABC 11, DPAC hosted this year's Triangle Rising Star Awards onstage on Sunday evening, June 2. The Triangle Rising Star Awards (TRS) is a program that brings together area high school musical theater students to perform together and compete against one another for educational scholarships. Last year's winners, Sam Hamashima and Anna Higginson, presented the awards for Best Actress and Best Actor, while awards were also given for Best Ensemble and Best Musical.
