Tony-nominated actress Cristin Milioti, who plays the role of 'Girl' in the musical ONCE appeared on NBC 4 NEW YORK yesterday to talk about the hit Broadway show. Milioti shared her belief that it is the play's honesty which has created such a strong response from audiences. 'It's not a fairytale,' explains the actress, 'that makes it very relatable.' Winning the prestigious Woodward/Newman Award for best play, while being developed at Rogue Machine for their 2012 season, brought with it a fully funded production mounted at the Bloomington Play Project in Indiana. It turned out to be one of their most successful projects to date. A Holland New Voices Award came shortly afterwards, and now playwright Henry Murray is ready for its close-up at Rogue Machine, known for staging new works. This will be a West Coast Premiere in one of the country's most vibrant cities for new plays, Los Angeles, opening September 15, 2012.

Over 20 years in the making, singer songwriter Glen Hansard released his first ever solo album, Rhythm and Repose, on Anti- Records on June 19. Best known for his work with The Frames, The Swell Season and in the feature film Once, for which he won an Academy Award, Rhythm and Repose is Hansard's debut solo album and first album of new material since his 2009 release Strict Joy with The Swell Season. Producers of the Tony Award-winning Best Musical ONCE announced today that the production has recouped its capitalization after only 21 weeks (169 performances), faster than any new Broadway musical in more than a decade.
