Too Heavy for your Pocket, the 13th competition winner, will have its world premiere on the Hertz Stage February 4 - 26, 2017. Opening night is Thursday, February 9, 2017.
Celebrating 10 seasons of Roundabout Underground, Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the sixth annual Roundabout Underground Reading Series, a five-night event that includes nightly readings of new works written and directed by emerging artists, as well as post-show receptions. The Reading Series will feature new works by Saheem Ali, Emily Feldman, Alex Lubischer, Don Nguyen, Ming Peiffer and Michael Thurber.
The Playwrights' Center's 45th anniversary season kicks off October 17 with PlayLabs, a week-long new play festival featuring Core Writers Christina Ham ('West of Central'), Susan Soon He Stanton ('we, the invisibles') and Ken Urban ('The Remains'). The Playwrights' Center and Jerome Foundation are pleased to announce the 2016-17 Jerome Fellows, Many Voices Fellows and Many Voices Mentees. The Jerome Fellowship for emerging playwrights is the Jerome Foundation's longest-awarded program, entering its 40th year. The Many Voices Fellowship was created in 1994 in partnership with the Jerome Foundation and significantly expanded in 2013.
Atlanta's nationally acclaimed Alliance Theatre and Jennings Hertz Artistic Director Susan V. Booth have announced the 2016/17 Season for the Alliance Stage, Hertz Stage, Theatre for Youth and Families, and the Kathy and Ken Bernhardt Theatre for the Very Young series. The 48th season includes seven world premieres, five musicals, five productions by Atlanta playwrights, and exceptional productions for youth and families. The 2016/17 season marks the Alliance's last in its current theater space before it undergoes a complete renovation, its first since it was built in 1968.

THE DIAMOND TRADE, which is the first of three productions commissioned by Actors Theatre for the Acting Apprentice Company, will be performed on Monday, September 28th 2015 at 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. in the Sara Shallenberger Brown lobby at Actors Theatre of Louisville.
Samuel French presents The Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival, the nation's premier short play competition August 4 - 9 at the East 13th Street Theater (Classic Stage Company). Chosen from over 1,500 submissions (a record breaking number) from the U.S. and abroad, 30 finalist plays, each running 10-30 minutes in length, will be presented. The Sunday, August 9th presentation is the culmination of the week-long festival at which the six winning plays will be presented.

Chosen from over 1,500 submissions (a record breaking number) from the U.S. and abroad, these 30 plays will be presented during a week-long festival August 6th-9th. This past year, a brand-new organization called The Kilroys solicited nominations from over 140 theatre professionals (primarily artistic directors and literary managers) for their favorite new plays by female-identified playwrights. In June they published The List -- the top 46 of these plays. Dry Land was one of the most recommended, and many playwrights Colt Coeur has collaborated with in the past were also on the list. In the spirit of continuing to champion gender parity in the theatre, we are hosting a Festival of Readings of plays by women during the run of Dry Land. The plays included are as follows:
