Roulette Presents Bill Horvitz Expanded Band CD “The Long Walk”

Roulette presents the 17-piece The Bill Horvitz Expanded Band performing music from the new CD, The Long Walk, a suite of pieces composed as a tribute to Bill's brother Philip Horvitz, who passed away of heart failure in 2005 at the age of 44.

PS122 Adds BodyCartography Project to COIL, Now thru 1/17

As part of the eighth edition of the COIL festival and the fourth edition of the American Realness, Performance Space 122 (PS122) and tbspMGMT present the New York premiere of Super Nature, from Minneapolis-based BodyCartography Project and Bessie Award-winning composer and musician Zeena Parkins. Super Nature is a radical, ecological melodrama fraught with animal appetites born from the restless imaginations of the BodyCartography Project's Olive Bieringa and Otto Ramstad.

MET MUSEUM PRESENTS Announces Remaining 2012 Events

On Friday, November 30, The Metropolitan Museum of Art will offer a live webcast of the first of five performances of an updated version of the 16th-century Chinese Kunqu opera masterpiece Peony Pavilion that will take place in the Met's Astor Court, the courtyard modeled on a 17th-century Chinese garden. This 70-minute version of the opera has been developed and directed by celebrated composer Tan Dun, with a new score by Mr. Tan and choreography by Huang Doudou, one of China's most prominent dancers. It will be performed by Zhang Jun, one of China's most respected Kunqu performers, and the Shanghai Zhang Jun Art Center Company.
