Hartford Stage will intensify the magic and merriment of A Christmas Carol - A Ghost Story of Christmas with state-of-the-art lighting, new costumes, and awe-inspiring special effects for its 16th annual production of the Charles Dickens' masterpiece, for only four weeks, from tonight, November 29 to December 28.

Hartford Stage will host the annual Community Night benefit performance of A Christmas Carol - A Ghost Story of Christmas at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 4. The performance will be attended by 500 children from 24 local organizations.

A dark, dark Christmas comedy. Scandal erupts at the North Pole when one of Santa's eight tiny reindeer accuses him of sexual harassment. As mass media descends upon the event, the other members of the sleigh team demand to share their perspectives, and a horrific tale of corruption and perversion emerges, which seems to implicate everyone from the littlest elf to the tainted Saint himself.

FOCUS DANCE is a part of FOCUS 2014, the National Platform to promote American dance both abroad and nationally. The week-long platform presents performances of U.S. based dance companies during the annual Arts Presenters Conference in New York City, and one of the largest gatherings of artists, dancers and dance professionals in the U.S. In January 2014, two venues partner with Gotham Arts Exchange to present the artistic visions of the curators gathered to shape the 2014 edition of FOCUS.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University and the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research (formerly known as the Du Bois Institute), in conjunction with Hilton Als of The New Yorker, will present a staged reading of Alice Childress's Wedding Band: A Love-Hate Story in Black and White, co-directed by Hilton Als and A.R.T. Artistic Associate Shira Milikowsky. It takes place at the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle Street, Cambridge, starting at 7:30pm, and will be followed by a post-reading discussion.

The memorial will be held at 7:00pm tonight, Monday, November 18th in the theater of the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle Street, Cambridge, and will be followed by a reception in the lobby of the theater. Doors will open at 6:15pm.

Following critically acclaimed, smash-hit runs at The Hartford Stage and San Diego's Old Globe Theatre, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder stars Tony Award Winner Jefferson Mays and Bryce Pinkham, and features Lisa O'Hare, Lauren Worsham, Jane Carr, Pamela Bob, Joanna Glushak,Eddie Korbich, Jeff Kready, Mark Ledbetter, Jennifer Smith, Price Waldman, and Catherine Walker. The Drama League (Executive Director Gabriel Shanks; Artistic Director Roger T. Boston Playwrights' Theatre (BPT) continues its 2013-14 season with Windowmen by award-winning playwright Steven Barkhimer. Running from tonight, October 31 to November 24, this fast-paced coming-of-age comedy will be directed by Brett Marks.

The Drama League announced today that they will honor Golden Globe Nominee and Emmy Award winner Neil Patrick Harris at the 30th Annual Musical Celebration of Broadway, to be held on Monday evening, February 3, 2014 at the famed Pierre Hotel (2 East 61st Street). The black-tie gala, which features dozens of stars from Hollywood and Broadway in a one-night-only evening of musical selections drawn from Mr. Harris' career in theater, film and television, supports The Drama League's educational initiatives for promising young artists. The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T) welcomes Seth Goldman, co-founder and TeaEO of Honest Tea and Harvard College alum, to discuss his new business book in comic format, Mission in a Bottle - The Honest Guide to Doing Business Differently - and Succeeding, published by Crown Business division of Random House. Co-authored with Barry Nalebuff, Honest Tea co-founder and Yale School of Management professor, the book explains how they built their business from five thermoses to morethat 100 million bottles a year.
