The Drama League has announced that Judith Light and Christopher Sieber will announce the 2014 Drama League Awards Nominees for Distinguished Production of a Play, Distinguished Production of a Musical, Distinguished Revival of a Play, Distinguished Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award on Wednesday morning, April 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Sardi's (234 West 44th Street, 2nd Floor). Happy Medium Theatre (HMT) closes its 5th season, themed 'Home is where the horror is', with Lebensraum by Israel Horovitz. Heading up the production is award-winning and widely-praised Boston Fringe director, Brett Marks (Windowmen, Boston Playwrights' Theatre). 92Y presents an evening with the cast and creative team behind the best-reviewed show of the season, A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder. Robert L. Freedman (book/lyrics) and Steven Lutvak (music/lyrics) discuss the production's ten-year journey to Broadway, with performances from cast members Jefferson Mays, Bryce Pinkham, Lisa O'Hare, and Lauren Worsham on Sunday, May 11 at 8 pm. Israeli Stage and CJP partner to present Savyon Liebrecht's The Banality of Love on BU's campus as a campus-wide initiative to commemorate Yom Ha'Shoa (Holocaust Day). Some 400+ students are expected to attend from the Greater Boston Area. (CJP and Hillels will be providing shuttles for students attending school outside of Boston proper; 300+ BU Students will be in attendance as well as 100+ Students from the surrounding area schools). The Smith Center for the Performing Arts presents the world premiere of THE TEMPEST, produced by the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at The Smith Center in Las Vegas today, April 5-13, 2014. The Smith Center's first ever co-production, THE TEMPEST is adapted and directed by Aaron Posner and Teller from the play by William Shakespeare, with magic by Teller, music by Tom Waits and movement by Matt Kent of Pilobolus. THE TEMPEST will perform at The Smith Center's Donald W. Reynolds Symphony Park in a 500-seat climate controlled tent before moving to Cambridge, MA to begin performances at A.R.T.

Huntington Theatre Company continues its 2013-2014 Season with playwright-in-residence Melinda Lopez's latest play, the stirring new drama Becoming Cuba. Huntington Associate Producer M. Bevin O'Gara makes her Huntington directorial debut of the Huntington's playwright-in-residence's latest work. Performances of Becoming Cuba begin at the South End / Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA tonight, March 28. Due to popular demand, the run has been extended to May 3, 2014.

Due to critical and popular acclaim, SpeakEasy Stage Company is adding one additional week of performances to its New England premiere production of THE WHALE by Samuel D. Hunter.

Scenic designer, writer and professor, MARJORIE BRADLEY KELLOGG, and costume designer DEBORAH M. DRYDEN are among the 2014 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, May 2, at 6:30pm, at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Ms. Kellogg will receive the Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design and Ms. Dryden was selected to receive the 2014 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design. Ms. Kellogg's award will be presented to her by director Kenny Leon and Ms. Dryden's award will be presented to her by designer David Woolard.

This April, Stoneham Theatre audiences will discover a piece of American history with the World Premiere of Michael Aman's play The Unbleached American.
